Men explain Epstein to me: “This is the story I could tell on a podcast –although in telling it I might become incoherent with rage or start crying. Men don’t really need to hear this from me anyway; all they need to do is listen to the women around them.” www.lrb.co.uk/the-paper/v4...

The whole point of Dawn of Everything is that no 1 thing predetermines how human society is organised or structured & we have a much greater degree of agency to create different ways of living/being - at least more than traditional social science (and grifters like Harare) would have us assume

Cambridge methodology primer: “One of my aims in writing about the long debate over how to think about the concept of civil liberty was to ask whether those who eventually lost the battle may nevertheless have won the argument. To change the metaphor, I have been in quest of buried treasure.”

Short extract from my recent review of Enlightenment Biopolitics #Frenchhistory
The strength of this study lies in its breadth, and the connections it makes between different eighteenth-century plans for human breeding, the exclusionary underpinnings of Enlightenment political thought, and the origins of modern biopolitics. This study thus offers a new way of thinking about the politics of life in the Enlightenment and the French Revolution, as well as about the relationship between these politics and later developments, such as colonial violence and the Holocaust.

This entire discourse feels like gaslighting. Yes antisemitism exists on the left and appears to have spiked since Oct 7. But anti-Arab and anti-Islamic prejudice ALSO EXIST and are major contributing factors to an ONGOING CAMPAIGN OF MASS MURDER. Why is 99% of media concern aimed at the former?
Misogyny and Antisemitism Are a Toxic Brew
“Zio bitch!” a young man in a kaffiyeh and Black Lives Matter T-shirt barked at one of us, his ire apparently provoked by a yellow ribbon pin, a symbol of the Israeli hostages held by Hamas. The exchange was unsettling but not surprising. Even in New York, where we both live, we have often seen an extraordinary lack of empathy for the Israeli victims of Oct. 7 and outright hostility toward those who advocate for them. The epithet “Zio bitch” highlights multilayered animosities, pointing to an insidious, specific prejudice we have seen bloom this year: the melding of misogyny and antisemitism.
