Well into the 1980s, my grandma thought every rock band on TV must be the Beatles and every lone dude singing with a harmonica must be Bob "Dye-lan." (I was never sure if she really thought that or if she was pulling my leg. She had a subtle sense of humor sometimes.)

Spotted this green budgie hanging out with some house sparrows a little while ago over by Glenwood and Carmen in the brackish zone between Uptown and Andersonville (Chicago).

Small green bird that seems out of place in the wild. Sitting on a wrought iron fence, not being very scared of me, unlike the house sparrows it was congregating with just before I took the photo.

There should be a version of the Scrooge story where the ghosts don't scare Ebenezer into embracing Christmas, and he keeps going, "Bah, humbug! Tiny Tim can dieee!" And then Satan appears in the form of a 12-foot-tall goat-humanoid and fucks Scrooge to death until only some greasy ashes are left.
