Another garden update: The oranges are coming in just fine. This is about half of the size they will be in December.

Brief garden update: Passionfruits are on the vine. I am hoping they can ripen before our first frost. We get a much later frost here compared to much of the US.

Yeah 😔 I cancelled a lot of subscriptions to save some money. I cancelled D+ months before Kimmel and cancelled Paramount Plus. And all I have left now is YouTube and one online course.

Yeah. Well. Ice cream is life. I guess? I made a mess of the counter but it’s all cleaned up now. Well worth the effort.

Organic blueberry ice cream made with cream, whole milk, raw cane sugar, and vanilla extract. Yum!

Ooh… now I am wondering what releasing all of them will do. Since it’s horror, I take it that it’s not a good thing! Creative death scenes sounds intriguing.🤔 Is this on Netflix or somewhere else?

I just read this article on The Globe & Mail, and it is relatable to my having left FB… I don’t hear from old friends and acquaintances as much as I used to. I have become invisible. The trick now is to find my inbetween www.theglobeandmail.com/life/first-p...

theglobeandmail.com

I stopped posting on social media and it made me invisible. Now, I live somewhere in between

Oh btw… Report on the optometrist and my bent glasses… An assistant tried to unbend my frames where they meet the stem hinges as best they could without breaking them, and it is better, but not ideal. I am on a special plan though where they will be replaced & get a new pair in a couple weeks. Yay!

Man… I have one hell of a headache. I don’t know if I slept wrong and kinked my neck somehow and that’s the cause or crappy sleep or something else. But I am about to take the ice cream container and put it on my head/neck instead of eating the contents.

This Is Fine 🫠☕️🔥 @thiswasfine.bsky.social · 06/10/2025

Okay. Confession time. I have made more ice cream, and summer is over. Coulda fooled me, the temperature here tomorrow is gonna be 30 C/86 F. But I guess that is how things roll in California. This batch is more of an organic blueberry cream. I halved the blueberries from 4 c to 2 in the recipe.

Organic blueberry cream ice cream. I halved the 4 cups of blueberries in the recipe to 2 cups, so it has a milder blueberry flavour.

Yes. To some degree being busy with stuff and online less chronically is better for my mental health. The only drawback is I miss people I used to talk to more. 😔

I haven’t? I don’t know how I would respond to it because in recent years I have developed a reaction to cannabis smoke I never used to have. I suspect cannabis is on my no fly list based on that. Would CBD be? Maybe…

I could use a sedative. Sleep has been pretty broken for a while. Coffee helps, but only so much before it’s diminishing returns. … Yes, I am still making ice cream here and there, but less often. It was more a summer thing.

I seriously can’t keep up with the doomscrolling these days. I am busy with day to day life. Changes on the horizon. But in the meantime… neurologist appointment tomorrow, optometrist walk in Friday morning because I accidentally bent my glasses frame and now they sit crooked on my face.

Awesome! I really enjoyed the original movies. I am curious how one adapts this for the stage including travelling back in time with the car. ‘Drive’ into a projection on a screen? Then lift the screen to reveal a set of the past?

How do you think they compare to Pro 2? I read some ppl complain about the fit, that their ears hurt. Any experience with that? I don’t know if I want to upgrade yet. My 2’s aren’t that old.

Hey, hi 👋 Long time no see. I am leaving this message where my friends can see it. Sorry I haven’t been on BlueSky much in the past month or so. There’s been a lot going on, and I have been using this platform less. I still want to keep in touch - I’m not sure how best to do this.

I confess, I am back on the honemade ice cream kick. Made vanilla ice cream this morning, it’s in the freezer now to harden more. I think part of the motivation is it’s going to be 40 C today or 103 F…

Novo Nordisk’s move to cut the price of Ozempic to $499 for the uninsured is a modest step forward, but let’s not forget. Ozempic costs just $59 in Germany while it costs less than $5 to make. The U.S. must no longer pay the highest prices in the world for prescription drugs.

genAI is morally wrong and disrespectful to the creatives in your life as long as the models are built with material stolen from unconsenting and uncompensated writers and artists there are a bunch of other reasons why it's bad - it's a rich tapestry - but that first one should be enough on its own

I dunno what to think about the latest iteration of Duo Lingo animated scenes. I sm glad the exploding owl brain is gone. But I miss the owl fairy in the owl suit. I don’t like a raging Duo with teeth… it is not my flavour weird.
