Obscure 1980s BBC cartoon character stoppit, of iconic duo Stoppit and Tidyup. Stoppit is a red spikey pompom shaped monster with big eyes and pink arms and legs.

University of Nottingham have been in touch asking for bi+ people to get involved with their dementia care research.

Help Shape Future Dementia Support for LGBTQIA+ Communities

The Lived Experience Narratives in Dementia (LEND) Programme, led by the University of Nottingham and funded by the NIHR is developing new ways of supporting people affected by dementia through lived experience stories.

We are seeking LGBTQIA+ people living with dementia, current or former carers, partners, family members, and members of LGBTQIA+ communities with experience of dementia to get involved.

Take Part in Research

We are also recruiting participants for:

Focus groups exploring experiences of dementia within LGBTQIA+ communities

Interviews about what makes stories and personal experiences helpful (or unhelpful) when living with dementia

Future studies evaluating lived experience narratives and digital resources designed to support people affected by dementia

Why are we doing this?

Many LGBTQIA+ people affected by dementia tell us that they rarely see their own experiences reflected in information and support. We want to ensure that in the future resources include diverse sources, identities, relationships and life experiences.

Im from the 90s, where these glasses were the sex crime glasses. Wear these and I cant help but think you're a pedophile. Add a shell suit jacket and all bets are off. Shallow graves are 100% your forté. I do not like that they have come around again. One lot of perv spex is enough to worry about.

Geoffrey Boycatt update: still consistently upside down

Poems on the Underground is one of, possibly my absolute, favourite things about London.

David Hockney died and I'm unexpectedly extremely upset about it. We are both from the same set of villages in Bradford. At the top of my street was a fish and chip shop with a drawing by him done in 1954, still hanging there. They must've known what it was worth but it never moved.

I bought reusable fabric #BWithTheT banners. Behemoth had opinions.

You know how I love buying vintaaaage bisexual books to be mad at? Finally tracked down a copy of this. OBVIOUSLY it will never be as bad as the book I annotated with expletives and hexes on the author(Loving them Both by Colin MacInnes) but Im looking forward to hating it.

Bloody love a quiche. Partner will not eat shortcrust so puff it must be, and honesty it's not a downgrade. This one is ham, cheddar and onion, for @kittenparades.bsky.social. I also made spinach, pea and parmesan which is currently baking.

Briefly believed this sewing kit came with googly eyes.

An open sewing kit that zips up. In one half is a selection of threads in different colours. In the other various bits of sewing ephemera - tiny useless scissors, safety pins, measuring tape etc. Among themselves is two pairs of black press-studs/poppers on a blue cardboard tape. Each stud is on a white circle on the blue tape.
