Pete Alonso hit 6 home runs in the last 8* games of the season. He ended the season with the AL lead in home runs because of those last 8 games. 8 games can also have a huge impact on the postseason picture. And mostly, more baseball is always better than less baseball.*

MLB signed a deal with Strauss 2 years ago to supply the helmets for all MLB teams. I think it’s stupid to have teams put the logo on the helmet in post season again this year. Say something at start of game or do a PSA, but leave unis alone for post season. Maybe it’s just me, but it’s annoying

Have been ranting about this shit with @kerrylyn130.bsky.social and @kimschuss.bsky.social for years, going back to Austin Hays constantly playing through injury instead of going on the IL. The way this team handles injuries is egregious and that’s been obvious to fans for a long time.

Now let's say that Henderson could have gotten back to 85% health and production by taking some time off and focusing on recovery. Not all the way back to 100%, just 85%. Doing some very simple algebra, in 2024, he could have missed 14% of his games, which works out to 21 games, and still provided more value to the team than he did by staying in the lineup. In 2026, that number is 63 games. Even if Henderson needed well over two months - just to get back to just 85% - it still would have been worth it from a production standpoint to sit him down.

Another note: the fact that they are designing this social space to be shaded is *fantastic.* Those upper deck seats can be absolutely brutal in the sun and this will give people a place where they can escape into the shade for awhile and still watch the game.
