WGA board voting is open and it is time for new voices. The clique that runs our union has had power for too long. Vote for anyone promising to change how things operate WITHIN the union. Only then will change happen in the industry at large.

The studios pay attention to how the @wgawest.bsky.social treats its own members and asks, “Why should we treat writers better than they treat themselves?”

If you are a WGA member, it is strongly recommended that you read the recent posts on the most populous WGA Facebook group. Important information there about the very concerning actions taken by the current WGA Board in recent discipline trials.

There needs to be accountability for the manner in which the WGA Board (not present at any trials) overruled the verdicts of EVERY discipline committee in order to impose their own devastating punishments. These moves were UNANIMOUS from the board. VOTE. OUT. EVERY. INCUMBENT. #WGA #WGAW

Speaking of WGA board overreach, when does Tim Doyle get a retraction of his public censure, later struck down by the membership? The WGA board sent that censure out to every member via email and they ought to retract it via the same. #WGA #WGAW

Unpopular opinion incoming: secret tribunals, whisper campaigns, outing members for a public stoning, misinformation and McCarthy scare tactics, all reprehensible behavior by the union of Dalton Trumbo and other blacklisted writers whom we now cherish. Morally repugnant. #scriptsky

Many #screenwriters don't understand what the truth is, about Park Chan-Wook & Don McKellar being kicked out of the WGA for what was apparently minor post-production work (permitted by the DGA). The WGA board is very punishing. Read the whole article. #scriptsky #moviesky variety.com/2025/tv/news...

PSA: This reporting is incorrect. Being removed from the WGA (or going fi-core) does not prohibit a writer from working in any way. Nothing changes. You also collect health and pension per usual. The WGA promotes this misunderstanding in order to scare people away from fi-core status.

WGA board member, Adam Conover, is now a spokesman for a crypto, eye-scanning app. Moving forward, we should perhaps elect board members whose primary career is writing television and film, rather than whatever this is.

SAG and the WGA are in desperate need of new leadership, because their current leadership keeps selling them out to the worst fucking people. And the studios should also be run by people actually in the industry, not outside billionaires.

It's mighty funny that the biggest winner of the recent writer and animation strikes weren't the creators, writers, and animators. They're still struggling and working for better wages. Nope. The guy who made a huge career and making money everywhere is Adam Con Artist. And that's... disappointing.

Considering how much Adam plants his reputation to be against companies like this, I don’t think he deserves to be at any guild rally or to be a part of any project if he’s gonna be shilling for crypto scams now in some weird grift.

Had the WGA board simply followed the trial committee’s recommendations, they could have avoided creating such a visible and damaging divide. Really bad miscalculation WGA. Makes us look weak as we enter into 2026.

While a disappointing end result in all but 1 case, the vote counts are a devastating repudiation of the board's overreach. Despite the board flexing its power to weigh the scales of justice against the accused, roughly 48% of WGA voters have had enough. www.hollywoodreporter.com/business/bus...

For the WGA vote: I'm voting to adopt the alternative action proposed by the appellant. It seems like the board has lost sight. A trial committee chair (who also was a defense attorney) said this process was unfair. Something that the captains and board members refuse to acknowledge.

After inserting themselves into trials as "witnesses," overruling impartial Trial Committees in order to worsen punishments, and secretly changing our constitution (in violation of our rules), the board is now using our STRIKE CAPTAIN SYSTEM to whip votes in their favor. This cannot be who we are.
