Is there a Mandarin or Cantonese equivalent to the English word mordacious? I love to think MXTX was like let’s make Lan Wangji mordacious and to make it extra clear we’ll make him a biter. #mdzs #mxtx

Pinterest is the craziest site. Just so many random shit posts in one place, and a concerning amount of people trauma dumping in the comments of someone’s random image reposts.

I don't think I ever posted one of my most viral Sailor Moon comics here

Panel 1: Ami Mizuno saying to her friends, "I need you all to swear..."

Panel 2: All rhe girls saying, "FUCJ." with varying keels of enthusias.

Panel 2: Ami, flustered, saying, "Nghh!! Like, a promise??" And an offscreen voice saying, "ooh"

Lots of tech dudes think the "idea" is the important part of creating, not the creative journey you take through work to give that idea actual meaning. Ideas are the easiest, cheapest and least fulfilling part of it. Giving ideas life through work, and sharing that work with others, is the stuff.

Does anyone have a place for good fanfic writing prompts? I’m struggling with reeling in my own ideas and I’d like to practice with something that takes the pressure off in that respect. #tgcf or #mdzs prompts both work, or just general prompts tbh.

Trying to write is so hard 😭 I’ve got a serious story planned out and it’s probably considered a psychological thriller or smth but I just constantly want to make jokes. I’m making references to suicide cults and then in the same breath “I should make him accidentally order a stripper.” That would 😂

heart of the sea
scrapimmortal
Summary:
“Shh, you’re alright. I’ve got you. Gege’s got you. I’ll keep you safe.”

“Ge… gege?”

“Mhm,” the prince hummed, sounding pleased to hear his voice. “I’m older than you, so that makes me your gege.”

“Your Highness,” one of the men said, his voice shaking slightly. “Please let this one take that off your hands. It might bite you.”

Gege laughed, loud and bright and confident. “Thank you, but he’s not going to bite me.”

Crown Prince Xie Lian saves a little mer. The two of them fall in love. When Xie Lian vanishes, Hua Cheng searches the ocean, unable to search the land. All he finds is statues at the bottom of the sea. One day, he finds a perfect statue.

The reason generative AI is so popular with wannabe creatives is best illustrated by something every pro writer has encountered: getting pitched an idea by someone saying "You write it and we'll split the profits!" because they think the idea is what has value, not the writing. The opposite is true.

Honestly starting to think I’m cursed. Anytime I dare to think “I’ll just get it done really fast.” Or “I’ll just wack it out quickly… I’ll just do it!” I inevitably make some sort of critical error in the process that somehow makes the task take double the time it usually should.

110

thingsrdumb.bsky.social @thingsrdumb.bsky.social · 01/06/2025

That’s so fucking funny. I saw a twt that was like “the inaccurate part of tgcf is that everyone should’ve been in love with XL” and I’m like who says they weren’t? they all just bad at emotions. 😂
