Virgil here. The sky over the allotments looks like a disgruntled fish today. Avoid decisions involving sandwiches and legal matters.

A thoroughly original yet weirdly familiar tale of a world where the barriers of reality have been scraped thin & translucent. I wonder if The Department of Works played a part in the unknowable activities at Station 14. Some mysteries are better left unsolved, but I sorely wish to be told more.

All six episodes are OUT NOW. The number one hit podcast that everyone is talking about... quietly... in the dark. pod.link/1745494718 #BrokenVeil

Now I've listened, I must revisit each episode again from the beginning. Again. And I'm still not sure of what I've heard. I feel the need for some diagrams.

A day early? Or have episodes always been released on Tuesdays?

Just been informed that we’ve been knocked off number one in the charts by Jonathan Pie and I think we all know what we have to do this week. Pull together. Tell your mates… One more episode to go. Spread the word.

Broken Veil is giving me some definite creepy hauntological vibes, very much like @willmac23.bsky.social 's superb Apparition Phase. It's inspired me to take some 1970's Polaroids of a secret establishment that may never have existed in our reality.

Listened twice already. Intrigued, perplexed & alarmed in equal measure. Scary Jesus reminds me of a gazetteer of old stained glass windows I picked up in the honesty bookshop in Hay on Wye. Very damp & mildewed, I photographed many of the pages before they deteriorated further. Here's an example.

Inspired by the unsettling Broken Veil.

Love listening for new book (and author) ideas. As you mentioned stories about the legend, can I point you at The Strange Affair of Spring Heeled Jack, a thrilling steampunk adventure featuring the real life Sir Richard Burton and Algernon Blackwood, by the excellent @markhodderauthor.bsky.social

Could Station 14 be connected to Briggens House, I wonder?

@scarredforlife.bsky.social many scars are formed by half-remembered & misunderstood viewings of 1970s children's TV that was never intended to alarm. Unfortunately today I discovered this, and the memories came rushing back, especially the nightmare fuel around 3 minutes 30 youtu.be/uK-sWhtcMuw?...

The correct amount of pancakes is to stop eating when all the raisins/lemon juice/Nutella has run out, isn't it?

Unbelievable. Donald Trump has been invited to a state visit to the UK. We should not be rolling out the red carpet to celebrate this man. Agree? Add your name to the petition today: you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/no...

No second state visit for Trump

This is UNBELIEVABLE. Keir Starmer has just handed Donald Trump a letter from King Charles, inviting him for a second state visit to the UK. It’s totally unprecedented, and I was so outraged when I he...

Pretty sure my Brother had this kit. Or, at least, he definitely made shrunken heads from apples. He also built a little pyramid out of cardboard and used it to mummify worms and sharpen blunt razor blades. Yes, he was one of THOSE kids.

Absolutely top level prattle this episode. Unfortunately you haven't convinced me to watch these episodes of Goodnight Sweetheart because I always found it utterly dreary and unengaging, but at least you tried. Your discussion was more entertaining than the actual programme you talk about.

Been waiting for this for a heck of a long time...

The man in black fled across the desert, and the gunslinger followed. An original piece of artwork, depicting the silhouetted figure of the gunslinger, trudging determinedly across a blistering orange desert landscape, his hat pulled low over his head, and his long coat billowing out behind him in the hot wind. He follows a faint trail of footprints in the sand.
