Les llms n'existaient pas a l'époque, impossible d'avoir une seconde passe qui donne un sens a une suite de mot. Et puis surtout on a pas eu de grant de l'UE qui a préféré subventionner une solution de gants qui permet de faire du signe -> lettre car c'était vraiment le truc utile au quotidien 😬

On avait fait un outil open source de capture vidéo de signes pour permettre au dico Elix de capturer de nouveaux signes plus facilement en permettant l'entraînement d'un modèle pour la LSF. Malheureusement, on a pas eu assez de données pour aller plus loin sur signe -> mot / expression.

J'avais bossé sur un Consortium européen et on avait eu des contributions extérieures de Gallaudet. C'était super intéressant. Même si Gallaudet poussais de ouf pour faire de la traduction signe -> lettre, ce qui était leur fer de lance à l'époque.

I picked #NocoDB over #Airtable for the licence. Then they dropped #AGPL for "fair-code". Not betrayal, their reasons hold up. But I learned something annoying: self-hosting didn't make me sovereign, it made me portable. Turns out those aren't the same word.

Funny thing: back in the day I manually exported all my ChatGPT conversations and fed them into Claude Cowork to get a similar result – and used that to spin up projects. Nice to see this becoming a first‑class feature instead of a hacky workaround.
