So another interesting tidbit they dropped on Facebook: Macross Frontier goes up for preorder in December, and in the U.S. it’s through the new GKIDS store, despite being an Anime Ltd license. Sure seems like Toho wants to bring the two closer together.

Macross Frontier Deluxe Edition Blu-ray pre-order will start in December 2026

A slide from Bigwest's official Macross Facebook page that states:

"The distribution of The Super Dimension Fortress Macross: Do You Remember Love? audiovisual content will be included as part of the existing Macross Franchise worldwide.

I don't mind smaller versions but I had a slim PS2 and that broke down on me with its CD reader not to mention how hot that thing actually got...

Eternal ferrystone also makes sense and not out of left field as it was in the the first Dragons dogma dark arisen game. But it’s optional to use

Enjoyed this conversation with the DD2DA devs, where we talked about all the changes to the game over the last two years, and while some of the super difficulty softening things like Eternal Ferrystone aren't in the director's optimum vision, he's made peace with people using it more than he'd like:

A great, 6 million pageview month for @rpgsite.net in September. Really proud of the team, and in October we will continue to make hay while the sun shines until November when some game we don't really cover obliterates the schedule and leaves us nothing to cover (some cool features planned though!)

Trying hard not to blaze thru Ace Combat 8 too fast for single player. Game has met my high expectations and it has surprised 7 in pretty much everyway. I’m liking the more narrative focus on story and the music plays a more direct role here too. Loving the game. Easily contender for GOTY for me.

Ace Combat 8 soundtrack is also really good too. The band music is a nice new thing to this game.

Or if you want to go the not so easily available route, Ace Combat 4 on PS2 is also really great for newcomers. It was the PS2 trilogy of 4-5-Zero in that release order.

010

Yazi @theyazinator.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Sorry if you got this response a number of times but 5 is a solid game for newcomers especially as it leads into 7 with some of the same countries. Zero is a prequel to everything but that is also a good game to start with too.

Yazi @theyazinator.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Ace Combat Assault Horizon for PS3 is the worst game of the franchise. It tries to be more like Call of Duty and installs lame helicopter turret missions. Also set in the real world unlike the main numbered games which take place in a fictional world.

Yeah but porting to it still seems to be a hassle for some developers as it tends to be weaker/less FPS than PS5/PC. Depends on the game of course. It is far superior to Switch 1 ports so there is progress there like you said

Which is odd given that the game is not very resource demanding. Although they likely outsourced to another company and was not done well..

I generally do not trust games from kickstarters given most of them go nowhere or have a very shitty release. I do give credit to Eiyuden Chronicles which was quite successful and was a good game in the end too. I bought the physical copy as I don’t contribute to kickstarter
