Happy #WorldCopywritersDay Here’s a hat tip to the team that clearly had fun creating this sign at Abbey Road DLR station. “Passengers will need a ticket to ride.”
A Transport for London information sign at Abbey Road DLR station that uses Beatles song titles to explain that visitors hoping to find the famous zebra crossing at Abbey Road are in the wrong place. The sign reads:

“Day tripper looking for the Beatles zebra crossing?

Feel like you've been here there and everywhere and on a magical mystery tour? Then don't pass me by.

Unfortunately you are at the wrong Abbey Road. However we can work it out and help you get back to the correct location.

So let's come together and take the DLR one stop to West Ham and change to a Jubilee line train to St John's Wood station. Passengers will need a ticket to ride.”

A lovely wander around Huggate. Catching the view at the poetry bench, good company from our four-legged pals, and tea with a tree. If only every Sunday was this chilled.
A brunette woman in a dark padded jacket sits on a curved wooden bench marked “National Trail,” with a small brown cockapoo dog beside her, overlooking rolling green and brown hills under an overcast sky.A small brown cockapoo stands on a wooden bench with her head resting on the bench’s railing. Words engraved on the bench are an extract from a poem and read ‘we moved in the ghost of water’. Two hands hold enamel mugs, one red in the foreground and one green with a logo in the background, while seated on grassy ground with fallen logs and bare trees on a grey day in the hills.A woman dressed in black outdoor gear and a backpack stands in a wide grassy valley with two dogs, one brown-and-white and one curly brown, surrounded by steep green banks and a cloudy sky.

Such a beautiful day for a morning walk. The highlight was spotting this welly boot on the fence in front of the Wanstead Park grotto. From a certain angle it looks like the grotto’s about to eat it. Or is that just me?!
The ruins of the Wanstead Park grotto, seen through the bars of a green metal fence. There’s a green child-sized wellington boot stuck upside down on the fence. The grotto has a large archway in it with three smaller arches above which give the impression of a face with a big wide open mouth.

The jasmine is absolutely hitting the spot right now. I’ve been walking with my nose around London, taking little detours down all the side streets where I know find some. Jasmine is one of my favoure smells. Full of the potential of summer. thewriterswalk.com/p/walking-wi...

A bit frosty on my morning walk. I saw a pair of swans flying above me, circling Victoria Park’s west lake. I realised I’ve never seen a swan fly before. A first for everything, so it was worth braving the chill. Maybe they were trying to find a landing spot on the lake that wasn’t iced over?
