(11) monster rancher evo (2005) something of a fever dream, monster rancher evo is a difficult game that i have yet to beat still to this day haha. but nostalgic for the anime, this series gives another story separate from the one we know. i recall it was very interesting and hope to replay soon.

(10) sonic adventure 2 (2001) also a long time sonic fan, this one cemented my love for the series in ways that i keep coming back to. and yes, this includes the lovely chao garden (why has there been no sequels???)! that said the introduction of shadow and playing each character is special.

(8) the world ends with you (2007) still impresses me with how it utilized the handheld system. distinctive art style and urban fantasy elements inspired by shibuya and its youth culture, twewy was truly a story about understanding each other. still can’t listen to the ending theme without crying.

(6) neverwinter nights (2002) still one of the only dungeons and dragons game i’ve adhered to game-wise for the pc. it’s one of the first stories that left an impact on me as you journey through to save neverwinter and in turn characters you come to adore and grapple with. it’s also multiplayer!

(5) fire emblem: the sacred stones (2004) one of my first foray into the fire emblem series was sacred stones. the continent of magvel held such an array of characters and lore that i still treasure to this day. as someone that loves to think strategy, this tactical role-playing game is memorable.

(4) kolona 2: lunatea’s veil (2001) much like the dream worlds kolona frequents in the games, the dreamlike experience still stays with me. charming gameplay, cast, worldbuilding and lore captivated me at a young age. a series that platformers should play once as it’s still a series i hope returns.

(2) ib (2012) this rpg maker adventure horror game is still one i come back to from time to time. trapped in an eldritch art museum and having to escape back to the real world always felt like a fairytale horror. the music, characters, world and lore still endears me along with its messages.

Getting nostalgic when revisiting old favourites from childhood and learning that The Land Before Time turned 35yrs old this year. Released in November 1988, I can still remember and hum “If We Hold On Together” even after all these long years… 🥹😭💕
