This is how we used to advertise alcohol. In future, will we look back and see we made the same mistake with social media? (To be very clear, this is a historical advert that does not reflect modern medical advice)

A close look at how we can be influenced, by force, fear or invitation. I think this is so important. The pressure, threats and attempts to mislead others are clearly damaging people’s mental health and wellbeing, both online and in the real world.

A book that really changed things for me was Autopilot, by Andrew Smart. He explains how doing nothing, like simply watching clouds, helps the mind join the dots behind the scenes. Gives us more chance of suddenly getting a great idea.

Things I’ve found and what’s on my radar: Pondering something that came to me. We’re all fighting over reality. Expect some content on that soon. Really enjoyed listing to Bernie Sanders on the Joe Rogan Experience. This is how political discussion should be done.

“Focus is about saying no” - Steve jobs This is an Interesting one. Saying no doesn’t have to be a bad thing. It's about doing what it takes to focus on what’s important. Avoiding distractions to get things done. Protecting your time. I think it helps to be polite, firm and focussed.

My new post, Inspiration from Eddie Jordan. It's not just one for Formula 1 fans. It's part of a series, where I've also looked at Steve Jobs and Bono. I'll explore two important warnings Eddie Jordan would often share. 'Never let the old man in' and 'having more money than time'.

AI is everywhere. We keep being told how great it is. One of the key selling points I keep hearing about is that you can ask it to give you a summary of things. Is this really helping you though? www.thewellbeingwebsite.com/blog/can-you...

A big weekend for me. It’s the Le Mans 24hr. Thinking about the anniversary of the end of the Falklands War. If you haven’t already, I’d take some time to learn about what our incredible people did down there. I really like the idea of the new Fuji X Half camera. I don’t like the price though.

My new post. We'll explore the way we keep being encouraged to take shortcuts. One of the key selling points of AI seems to be it's ability to serve up condensed versions of things. I have a question. What are we missing out doing this? It's on The Wellbeing Website.

“Everything you want is on the other side of fear” - Jack Canfield That first step can be difficult. It can seem impossible, or so far away. Sometimes, it just needs that push. That breakthrough.

Tranquility (Jaku) This is all about a deep satisfaction that’s hard to put into words. A connection to something. It is not a goal in itself, it’s a result of the other three principles combined.

Purity (Sei) The focus is on the setting of the items. Cleanliness comes about through this focus. Purity comes from intention.

Martin Robinson @thewellbeingwebsite.com · 27/05/2025
Respect (Kai) The focus is on the host’s home. The items used in the ceremony are particularly important. Essentially, it’s all about the message they send to other people. Again, this is extended to a respect for nature.

Harmony (Wa) This is all about the connection between the host and their guests, as well as our wider connection to nature. It encourages us to move beyond impressing people, competing with them or trying to dominate them.

After almost ten years, I’ve stopped actively using Trello. It’s been a faithful companion, but putting things in one place has so many benefits. One app and a single second brain for me now.

“No man has a good enough memory to be a successful liar ” - Abraham Lincoln Something to think about. Darkness often surrounds us, and it can tempt us. In a world where unethical shortcuts often seem to be encouraged, the right path can still deliver so many rewards.

The modern argument. Two sides locked in their place. Intractable, judgemental and confrontational. I don’t think this helps anyone. When we listen. When we consider what’s being said and keep reconsidering our position, we might learn something. Find common ground.

Apple Fitness + - I’m suggesting this one because of the amazing yoga workouts. It’s so easy to get started. There’s even a reduced move set for beginners. This one transformed the way I approach fitness. The meditations are also helpful.
