Whether it hit him in his gut and his conscience or not, Team Sheeran is on the clock to make some decisions and communicate them to a shit ton of people, not the least of which are fans who copped tickets for this tour. And if someone in his camp has a crisis mgmt role, they are trash at the job.

Sheeran's entire tour talent bailed on him QUICKLY. How are him and his camp processing that? He has professional and personal relationships with these musicians. They stated clearly that their principles are more important. That has to prompt some soul searching. But maybe he's too rich to care?

As a Gen-X DC native, my childhood experience was marked by living in neighborhoods where my peers were one generation removed from the Carolinas and who still had extensive family ties in those states. So much southern culture was woven into that.

The last time I was there was after the regime started their bullshit but a dear friend had a commissioned dance performance there. After her brilliant show I spent about 90 min in the JFK exhibit reflecting on a great American while hatred for the current POTUS churned my gut.

I realized that I am imprisoned indoors for two months out of every year. Crotch pot, swamp ass, mosquito and air quality alert season is trash and keeps getting worse. My neighbors know that first fall morning below 60°F I'm standing on my porch in a tank top grinning over my coffee cup.

I have been on stages around the country and abroad with these guys. Countless late night studio sessions and road trips. Held each other up through the darkest tragedies and rejoiced over wins. Been uncle to all their kids. Learned hard life lessons. Amassed the most hilarious shared stories.

I have a thing for people who can create wonderful art and then keep the same energy in the other dimensions of their lives: with their loved ones, in their communities, etc. Sometimes there are dark sides to creative brilliance so I take strong note of those who manage to not be that.
