Visiting a new pulmonologist yesterday, the respiratory tech was surprised that I didn't want to unmask. He asked me if I would feel better knowing he had a covid test 2 weeks ago. Two. Weeks. Ago. Flabbergasted when I said no. The medical community has failed us all. #cleantheair #covidisntover

Masking discourse is on again and I’ll just say if you see people masking when few others are it’s likely because they’ve determined that for them, in that setting, the benefit of not catching (or spreading) whatever’s going around is worth the cost of masking. I don’t think it’s widely appreciated yet just how much COVID disinformation is an assault on democracy. COVID conspiracy theories were the best recruitment tool for the far right in decades. They’ve left us damaged—undermined faith in our governing institutions, science, and modern medicine.

It’s up to us because Congress isn’t going to help us. They aren’t even sounding the ALARM which is why many Americans have no idea what we’re facing. Do what you can. If you can’t make it to the protest, just sharing videos and photos is extremely helpful as we can’t rely on the media either.

You and your unmasked staff make it such a big risk of getting Covid that many people have had to avoid getting basic blood tests, mammograms, procedures, and checkups.
You know Covid is airborne and requires a respirator masks to prevent the spread yet you choose to be unprofessional for no reason.
There is no medical or scientific reason to stop making in healthcare facilities.
