Finally got myself sorted...got bandcamp and soundcloud, my own blog space, BlueSky, instagram x 2, facebook. Got a password diary just for these things. Ive always had all of these but never used them much so cleaned them all out (and of course still recording, painting writing and photography)

I bought this violin yesterday and the guy that was helping me in the shop was fantastic I spent an hour there chatting with him and he even showed me an electric cello as well. Great customer service very friendly and knowledgeable my taxi fare was quite big it was a one-off visit I'm glad I Went

Picked up my small MIDI keyboard from the shop today and I asked them if there was anything else I needed to buy and they said no and went home. I discovered that the cable in the box is USB-C to USB-C and my computer only has USB-A ports in the back.

Here's my temporary hack in my studio. You can see the screen open with my software on it something that I'm working on. In the middle is a z fold laptop stand and on it I'll be sitting quite a small lightweight MIDI keyboard instead of setting up a huge synthesizer or a large midi keyboard #music

This is my current hardback read. It's about the American West and how it was entwined within the white relationship with the indigenous Americans. I've only just started reading it but there was a shock in the first chapter which I never expected I'm not going to explain what it is due to spoilers

The midori journal I purchased online recently for my #fountainpen adventures was ok. It was a bit on the thin side and the separate cover was flimsy cardboard that didnt quite slide on snuggly and made the front page bow a bit. As a result Im still looking for a more perfect journal.

Ive finally got myself sorted out for 2 journals that are also diaries for painting and writing in and a 3rd one just for book reviews and bookish stuff. The two painting ones are MEEDEN mixed media.Mixed media heavier paper less pages than a standard 100gsm diary. Had to compromise

010

little.big.s0und @thespiritwithin.bsky.social · 14/05/2026

@tharricklawson.bsky.social I did find a Midori and cover for less than half that price but more than a basics lined dated diary.

@pushpullseattle.bsky.social I cant visit your store though I am in Australia and our currency against the USD is bad so I pay 30-35% more than local customers would. Its been that way since I was 6.

Today I threw out my first chunky glass ink bottle since restarting fountain pen use. I tilted the bottle to get one more fill and said a sad goodbye. However it means now Im allowed to get one more bottle and it can be a funky wierd ink :)

My exercise bike arrived yesterday. It weighs between 100-110kg but has 2 wheels so can be pushed. The courier was a PITA insisting on helping me to move it. When we got to my front door said if you need help ask your neighbour. I moved it inside by myself in 5 minutes. #mansplainingtoanidiot

@bergsbites.bsky.social Hey friend!! LOVE your fountain pen feed! Most of my interactions happen there but I noticed a few of my posts didn't show up in it. I mentioned both fountain pen and #fountainpen and didn't seem to work. What am I missing? 🖋️❤️

@garthnix.bsky.social I wanted to tell you I got myself a Kobo Ereader and purchased 12 cheap ebooks. One was a book of short stories by Philip K Dick, the fellow whose short story inspired Bladerunner. The second story was very strange, nothing like Isaac Asimov. Im scratching my head indeed.

@cirofreebird.bsky.social Maybe you can buy a cheap calligraphy set with a 2mm-3mm nib and learn how to do the fancy script. Its so pretty and elegant. Medieval manuscripts are such works of beauty and monks only had primitive ink and goose? feathers. You can use fancy inks etc.

@cirofreebird.bsky.social My writing is like a mad dogs breakfast thanks to my 7th grade teacher writing very fast on the whiteboard and pushing us to write a copious amount of notes. Im STILL trying to coach myself to write more attractively.

@cristianpintos.com Hello I just followed your profile it's Monday morning here I am in Australia

000

little.big.s0und @thespiritwithin.bsky.social · 18/04/2026

Regarding my last post Ive found a number of 2-3mm nibs on Amazon that dont say which pen they are for, also a calligraphy set and a few wooden body pens. If you are buying a nib on its own how can you tell if it fits any of your existing fountain pens if the seller doesnt say in the listing?

100

little.big.s0und @thespiritwithin.bsky.social · 18/04/2026

I just watched an Instagram video about swapping nibs in plastic and metal KAWECO fountain pens. Has anyone found a nib that is 3.0 that will fit? The only 3.0 nib I found was in a calligraphy set by Wordsworth and black.

I've now read about 12% of the bone tiki By David Hair. It started off with a contemporary story and I was a bit worried but now finally by chapter 4 magic is coming into it. It is a six book series so I am going to continue because it may be a slow burner. Is the first book of his that I've read

It seems that more people are using home delivery by Amazon Timu and Ali Express and the food delivery companies because of the price of gas and diesel. Its very rare for grocery delivery to be running late mid week based on my experience over the last 2 years.

@happybusman.bsky.social hello my new fountain pen right so smoothly I barely have to touch the paper. I’m very impressed because it moves so fast. I now have to concentrate and watch my hand so that my writing doesn’t get very wobbly and scrappy. I’m very happy with this.
