Youngest got the flu Sunday, oldest got it yesterday. Spouse is currently in tech week for a musical that opens Friday. I'm here using vacation time to stay home with the kids, because the sick time is all gone now. Just gotta make it to Sunday and I think we'll be good. We'll make it.

Holy shit I did it. It took two hours to get a single part loose and I spent a total of $150 on tools and parts. Last time I called a plumber out to do this it was $400 and that was seven years ago, so I can't imagine what it would be now.

For my lifetime I thought my grandmother would say "My swans" when exasperated, but couldn't figure out why. I learned yesterday that she had been saying "I swan" which is apparently a VERY Southern phrase to use in place of "I swear" to keep from saying the word "swear".

The cicadas are so loud you'd swear I was in an episode of Evangelion, smack in the middle of Summer. Instead Summer has ended for my kids & like every year it saddens me. My time with them will lessen until May rolls around again. We'll have a great year no matter what, but leaving Summer hurts.
