🖤 Last night's New Model Army gig at Peak Cavern was absolutely magical... An unforgettable experience 🖤

🖤 Streaming on repeat - I somehow love this album even more than the debut. A tonic in these toxic times, a cry of solidarity with the vulnerable and rage at the appalling hatred in the UK today. Not as folky as much of the album, but this is my favourite played live 🖤 youtu.be/e68qdk9zDug?...

Music is inescapably linked to emotion and memories... A last minute change to my list #5DebutAlbumsFinal sees Polly replaced by Pixies. RATM for its therapeutic qualities. FALAA by TSOM will top my list because it defines my teenage years, not because it's a better debut than Unknown Pleasures 🖤

🖤 It's another gig night, quite different from yesterday - with wonderful friends Nasty Fishmonger from Bristol 🖤

If you like live music and leave near any of these venues, get yourself down there. One of the best live bands around. You won’t be disappointed. I’ll probably be at Manchester and maybe Leeds too. @despjournalist.bsky.social

#5debutalbumsSF4 @despjournalist.bsky.social Desperate Journalist (2014) Full length debut from London-based post punks. Their influences weigh heavily, but this is no criticism when their antecedents were so good. Jo Bevan's spellbinding, confident voice - WOW Best track - Nothing #NowPlaying
