Just posted my #my9albums as a reply to someone else’s. So if you’re remotely interested… Albums that shaped my listening rather than the 9 I now love the most. Nevermind, George Best and Doolittle should be on really but I wanted some more recent ones as well.

Everywhere I look, I see people showing loads of love for Keo. Had no idea they were the new Oasis/Courteeners/FDC. Saw them as a support act a couple of years ago. Their fan base is weirdly obsessed with the band. Good at what they do, but not my cup of tea. Maybe I’m too old.

I’d love to see Morrissey in The Traitors. Would be top drawer entertainment.

Loved Preston 10k this morning. Slight muscle issue so no pushing and still managed a decent time and finish overall.

These guys… 🔥🔥🔥 Some new material played last night in a class venue (Trades Club)

Just over a month until the amazing double header of Weddoes and @despjournalist.bsky.social whose setlist is always fascinating. Predictions being made… can’t wait for this one. Would love Lacking to make a return but more likely on their headline shows?

Let's do this. Five 80s singles that are likely to bring you out in a rash. 1. Shattered Dreams - Johnny Hates Jazz 2. Sweet Little Mystery - Wet Wet Wet 3. Soft rock (You Give Love a bad name - Bon Jovi) 4. Huge Ballads (ie, Alone by Heart) 5. Simpering Shite (Lady in Red - Chris de Burgh)

Half an hour of fun in the rain and wind! Last bit of speed work before next weekend’s race (10k - target sub 48)

Blimey - £250 to stand up close enough to see a cabaret act. Can’t believe people will/can/wish to spend that amount. No new music means it’s clear it’s all about the money.

Definitely didn’t cry with joy when I saw this earlier today… @despjournalist.bsky.social ❤️

Old dogs, new tricks. Training for a 10k so had a 5k speed test. Fastest I’ve ever gone - 12 seconds better than previous PB. Shocked just about covers it.

Just about come to terms with the probability that I won’t see FDC live again unless I can crash an outstore. Not doing Heaton Park - 75000 is just tooooooooo big. WSCB not far behind now! Yes to Gorilla to Albert Hall to Victoria Warehouse next March. Wow. Exponential growth and well deserved.

Have really enjoyed the Wythenshawe Live gigs these past two years. We’ve been speculating on which bands are ‘left’ that are both big enough to sell out and I’d pay to see in a huge venue. It’s slim pickings! Radiohead, Massive Attack, Depeche Mode, Arctics? Strokes at a push maybe?

‘I’ll just have a look through this box of records if that’s ok?’ Very soon became, ‘Am I ok to take all these?’ Some decent record collection for him now. He’s even got the original Sally Cinnamon 12’’.

Little trip over the Pennines today. Really excited for the next chapter in the big fella’s story. Down side is I won’t see him now until we meet in Leeds for Wedding Present.

Feels like the right time to reacquaint myself with the entire back catalogue of The Wedding Present.

Didn’t see that coming… yet still we have climate change deniers and hear ‘go woke go broke’ all the time. 🤦

Fair play to Garmin. Reported a fault with a watch I’ve had for 5 years, use GPS 3 or 4 times a week and the battery is knackered. Sending me a replacement for around £100. It’s an old model they don’t do anymore. Great service and saves me about £400 as I was considering buying a new one. 👍

I’m not a huge ‘filmer’ at gigs as I like to just be there, but I do take a few clips now and again. It helps me recall the memories. Here’s about a minute of A Night Like This. youtu.be/pOFBskuwMJk?...

Yee hah! Westside Cowboy were superb last night at the instore. Played the whole album in order and then a couple of ‘older ones’ (Can’t See and I never met anyone…) Great seeing how their popularity has grown exponentially recently. Next time I see them is in a 2.3k cap venue (sold out)

Back in 2019, I saw a band called Heavy Rapids supporting Cabbage (on the comeback trail maybe…). Really enjoyed them but they split up and all their music has gone from streaming. youtu.be/yL5yIG1jd00?... Found out recently the front man is John Squire’s son!

Haven’t come down from last night despite the Nobbers being shite as always. Word for Slowdive - wow. Can’t believe I dismissed them back in the day and they reduced me to tears last night. When the Sun Hits was mesmerising and while in the moment I realised that Pitstop by Martial Arts shares…

Unspeakably brilliant from Slowdive and The Cure last night. A real privilege to be there and share the moment with my boy. Checked the list and The Cure are the 71st band we have seen together!
