Folks that went to seminary, what was your experience like? Bonus point if you’re: queer, poc, or lutheran.

And if you want to give humans room to explode into their full, glorious selves, you have got to celebrate the cringe. Because cringe always comes before, and sometimes with, true self expression.

If it isn’t uncomfortable, it’s either not diverse, or it is enforcing conformity at the expense of the marginalized.

If you want true, authentic, diverse community, you are going to have to learn to tolerate awkwardness. Because in between the moments of the the sublime…. Oh boy.

Community will also sometimes include boredom, and somebody is probably going to have to do the dishes, and move the chairs. If we want a village, we will need to show up, over and over again, for the mundane and awkward work. In person, if physically possible. But it’s worth it, in the end.

Without naming your job, tell me something you say over and over again at work. 18:30-0600: What’s your normal sleep schedule look like? 07:00-10:00/Weekends: Take a breathe. Be present in this moment, reminded that God’s grace and love flow in ordinary spaces and hard times.

Every human being is a reflection of the Divine. And we see them mistreated, it is a spiritual crisis. It is the Holy Other thrown in handcuffs, held in ICE detention centers. It is God being deported from our country.

The majority of organizing happening in Minnesota isn’t just peaceful, it’s INVISIBLE. Moms showing up who won’t be interviewed on TV, people whose ICE patrols don’t turn into viral video. The grocery runs, the donations, the people filming bc they happen to be there. Please remember this.

They shot Renee Good in the face. They kidnapped Liam Ramos. They just executed a man on the street. Unmask them. Prosecute them. No more secret police.

your pastor works for ICE ... and Follows Jesus The brown Jesus ? The one that was Hunted ? The one whose family had to show papers? That came from a refugee community? How do you reconcile your realities with your faith? Where does your humanity live?

I just wanna be clear concerning the Church protest in Minneapolis... and please feel free to disagree are you more concerned with the sanitation of the worship experience Than the dehumanization of the human beings around you?

God of love, call us back to Peace. As we grieve the recent violence in Minnesota, we pray for healing for all of those impacted by systems of fear and harm. We pray for immigrants, we pray for our neighbors, we pray for our nation. Use us to break these cycles with our actions and attitudes. Amen.

Hi. Chaplain here. You have no moral of ethical compunction to watch the ICE shooting video. It won't bring the victim back and will likely traumatize you. Put your outrage and energy into protest/organizing/donating/supporting immigrants.
