A profound and comprehensive look into shame as an overarching experience of autistic folk (particularly those in medicine, where autism is still treated as a disorder and patients are infantilized), and what we can do to break the cycle.

Autism has always existed. They just didn’t have a name for it. The science wasn’t advanced enough back then. Same with ADHD. It’s why your granny said your cousin Tina’s kid was “touched.”

Dear insurance companies, If you don’t cover super important medications, the patient more times than not will end up in the ER and then the hospital and I’m pretty sure those stays cost a lot more than the medication you wouldn’t pay for. Sincerely, Your biggest hater

The central tension physicians at all levels of training (including attendings) have to face: Control in the pursuit of excellence? Or entrustment to allow for learners to demonstrate their skills even if management is not optimal? Timely as I reflect on this past year and set goals for this year

Common traits of ADHD (explained by ducks). Really important explanation of time blindness at the beginning for the people out there who say everyone who shows up late is just being a selfish asshole. It's not easy to be on time when you have to fight your own brain to organize yourself to leave.

Glad that there's a Pro/Con on shortening fellowships in peds subspecialties @pasmeeting.bsky.social ... But people are forgetting that #MedPeds exists, IM fellowships dual train (e.g. Pulm/Crit, Heme/Onc), and #PedsHM still has a scholarly output requirement as a 2 year fellowship
