From today's @thepvdeye.bsky.social newsletter: here's my call for opinion submissions about this week's seismic Primary Day in PVD. Email philip@pvdeye.org.

From Philip Eil, our volunteer opinion section editor:

When major events happen in Providence, we at the Eye like to put out a call for multiple perspectives to include in our Readers Voices section. We did this first in the aftermath of the Brown University shooting last December and, again, a couple months later, after Providence’s historic February snowstorm.

This week’s primary day — where an incumbent mayor lost a primary for the first time in city history, an incumbent governor also lost (to Providence resident Helena Foulkes), and multiple candidates won spots on the Providence city council for the first time — felt like one of those big moments. So we are, once again, putting out a call.

If you've got a commentary or analysis to write about Primary Day in Providence, if you’ve got thoughts to share about what the day felt like, if you’ve got photographs you took, please consider submitting them to the Eye. You can email them to philip@pvdeye.org.

Please note: we prefer pieces about ideas and policies over rants or raves about specific candidates.
