If I'm reading this correctly, Seattle residents won't be able to access our accounts (and therefore any new or existing ebook/audiobook loans through Libby) for at least two weeks while the @spl.org system sets up their services after upgrades
The Library’s major system upgrade was successful and most of our services are now available or will be available soon. We will continue to update the chart below to show the current status of our services until this project is complete and normal operations resume in early October.

YMMV obviously, but a few months ago, I was facing the same situation. When I showed up, the walk-in wait time was only 10 min. (This was at the LQA DOL office)

You cannot drive straight from Ballard or Lake City to Capitol Hill on a single road either, but our car infrastructure is way too overbuilt as it is. More arterials will not fix it

Some of my closest calls getting hit by drivers are at these intersections. People just blow through them without looking for bicycles and often cut the corner to turn left. We need more diverters to prevent cars cutting through residential streets.

Many of these suburbs were created as tax shelters. Siphoning money from places that actually need it (in the name of equity!) to further subsidize them is ridiculous.

The decision last week from the Sound Transit board to leave Ballard Light Rail extension unfunded is downright outrageous. So make your voices heard! Sound Transit board needs to feel that pressure every single day until Ballard is funded.

If it gets Graham St into the "fully funded" column, that's great, but does this actually cover the cost of the project? The parking garage amendment has 5 cosponsors (including the KCE) and it says they can fund it by simply declaring that the Kirkland to Issaquah line costs $100M less

More to your point about ridership numbers, that 147k projection for Ballard was from before the upzones. AFAIK, ST hasn't updated the projection numbers, so an updated projection would probably increase proportionally more than other extensions.

Calling for "advancing" these projects aren't enough especially when you're using much more concrete terms for completing the spine, which we should do! But please channel that same energy for your own constituents and make sure we get to Ballard and our much needed infill stations in ST3.

This is such a weird strawman. 1. Bike lanes are for everyone 2. Bike lanes don't come at the expense of other mass transit 3. Forcing car dependency causes so many harms especially to people from historically marginalized groups

Dave Somers is the Snohomish County Executive and chair of the Sound Transit board. He is arguing for abandoning promises made to voters and not trying to build all of ST3. We will not allow him to succeed. There is no universe in which we abandon any piece of rail to Ballard.
