Nice to see this is hopping around the US a bit. I went in Chicago, and it was amazing. The team behind the exhibit did an amazing job putting the Pokemon world (marked blue) alongside the real one (marked red). You get new Pokemon lore out of it too, from the POV of "researchers." Really cool.

A bit of a hot take but "Just try" can go so far until you need to start reaping accountability and spend a few extra minutes of your time to recommend tutoring, anything via one-on-one substance to someone who's desperate, ydk what untapped potential they may possess and they will thank you later.

I think often I'm left feeling more jaded than ever because how art circles are so closed off and hypocritical that not everyone who has the heart to put in the hard work with their bare wits can afford the most expensive materials just so you can finally acknowledge them. You know who you are.

To think there was a time ago when artists had shitted so hard on affordable art kits as cheap imitation junk. It's wild to me that in the era gen AI slop they'll pretend everything's hunky-dory, that anyone can draw, like no, you don't get to cover your tails and pretend this never happened.

AI propaganda is play for play the same as car dependency propaganda. Including "the cork is out of the bottle; it's integrated into everything now & it'd be too difficult & disruptive & expensive to change that." & if you fell for it with cars, that should show you there's a real danger it'll work.

I just thought about drawing an art tribute for Avery, featuring his favorite Pokémon Pikachu and Jirachi, since it was his final pull last night, from what i heard or see.

Avery has sadly passed away at the age of 12, after 8 years of battle against the cancer. May he rest in peace.

Tonight is Avery the Poke Kid's memorial service. If we can, let's all band together and get this trainer's channel to 1 million subscribers, donate if you're able to, show to his loving parents what a pillar he was to the Pokémon community. Thank you. #averythepokekid #jirachi

There's something spiritually moving seeing Avery at his final moments pulling out a rare Jirachi. If you know the lore, Jirachi only wakes every millennium in a short seven-day window. Although it cannot be woken up by anyone, only when it hears a singing voice of purity. To the Pokémon community-

I love the new Darkwing Duck render. The shadowness lends itself very effectively in 3D, makes him look more eye candy but seeing stupid Seth Rogen's name always kills off the hype.

Was at Walmart recently to check on the 30th TCGs. They had 2 Poster Collection bundles left with the bird trio but I wasn't as tempted as the ones I wanted to get. But I did get a Quaxly model kit from Bandai Namco. Those and the Lego sets are the same toys I saw being sold at Pokemon XP/Worlds.

Taken this from retaliation of a complaining Pokemon fan but I'm grateful that Pokemon does their own standalone directs. We don't need all the major announcements and exciting extras dropped on a regular, what is rather an often majority-filled boring Nintendo direct.

Stefhof @thepolishartist.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

Overall, this direct annihilated yesterday's, mainly for Metroid 6. Wasn't that excited for Kirby, frustratingly. Now, we wait and see for Pokemon Presents next February. Happy for Yo-kai fans too.

I adored the absolute hell out of Metroid Dread so I can't help but really look forward to Metroid 6 (Ravenous). I believe this is supposed to be Serris? (or not) A favorite Metroid boss of mine from Fusion might be returning to Metroid Ravenous. Interesting if it is Serris that Mercury Steam is incorporating the same attack scope that AM2R's Serris had. I'm just mere speculating.

Ngl, Zelda 40th direct was very underwhelming and I guess I just have too much of a standard for what I prefer to see in this series. And I know we had Link's Awakening, etc but I miss when Zelda games felt very fluff and colorful. Like gimmie another Minish Cap of some sorts
