Important context: the UCP govt delayed the release of documents to the Auditor General. The audit is also complicated by disclosure issues related to the Mentzelopolous civil lawsuit. This is the biggest, most complex audit in the history of the Auditor General's office with many different facets.

Canada is not actually 'battling for survival' in the context of secession, because in both Alberta and Quebec secession has relatively small amounts of public support. What we're battling is dipshit far-right populist politicians enabling/pushing for this destructive bullshit.

Every year, within a month of the girls going back to school, everyone gets sick. The kids who brought this into my house recover in a day, two at the most. And I, the innocent victim of disgusting, germy kids, am sick for the better part of a week. Really doesn’t seem like a fair outcome.

Every time any media outlet interviews Keith Wilson or Tanya Clemens, they must be asked to explain the Let Alberta Decide's link to this campaign. www.nationalobserver.com/2026/09/04/i...
Let Alberta Decide did not respond to our request for comment on whether it had any knowledge of this dashboard or the AI-generated websites, despite acknowledging the request and forwarding it to the campaign’s leaders, Keith Wilson and Tanya Clemens.

After Canada's National Observer reached out to Let Alberta Decide, the website disappeared.

This is a great column. Jen Gerson nails it again. A must read.
But here is my best read of the situation: the Americans are attempting to back us into a “Fortress North America” in which we become progressively more militarily and economically dependent while still being subject to whatever trade demands they choose to impose. They aren’t even being decent enough to spell out the terms of our own surrender, here. What they are aiming for is our subjugation and vassalage. One in which we buy the weapons they demand, die when we’re told, accept whatever economic conditions they’re willing to offer and thank them for the privilege of our continued protection.

On one hand, this is completely accurate. On the other hand it sort of succumbs to the assumption that the primary goal of youth sports is producing the elite and I think any serious effort at reform has to start by re-centering the kids/players.
