They can be pricey but the most current Audobon society Field guide! Since I'm not in your region (I don't think anyway..?) my move would be to look up the nearest mushroom club chapter, your state chapter of NAMA, or similar and get book recommendations and/or join some events 🍄‍🟫❤️

News flash - I auto scroll past your AI event flyers and possibly miss things I would be interested in because that gpt formatting annoys my so brain badly I can't even read it You catch more flies with 15 minutes of actual work 😘

About to sit down with my spirit lamp and some agar, & 3 special fungal guests, including the craziest wild Hericium I have ever seen (pictured) I was mentally writing a little Star Wars esque intro score while setting up & titled it "Hope of the New Clones" if anyone wants a bad band name 👽

It's not hard for the people generating the food for the AI, the artists who still want to have use to society

In the face of endless waves of images shattering the meaning of being an artist, I will be staying hand-painted and homespun for the duration as an act of preservation. Hopefully long after death, while the pixel storm burns at the rate of the algorithm 🖤🪡

I started finally building my farm stand... It's skeletal and minimalistic yet somehow also nonsensically huge and heavy 🙃 Like we're going to need to borrow a tractor to move it, or carry it to the roadside in pieces and re-assemble it there 🫠 The whole thing is full dimensional rough hemlock 🌲

I don't know goldens because I wouldn't grow them, but if they behave like other oysters you will get more periodically from this same trunk. They fruit at a higher volume and consume wood faster than the natives (hence the problem), so it probably won't last as many seasons as native oysters.

Feeling like 💩 so I hobbled down the front hill to get some day lily petals for a bright, nutritious roasted beet, flower petal and gorgonzola salad 😋 hopefully these fresh phytonutrients help

Customers seem to trip over the word "spawn" a bit in the GYO mushroom biz I prefer "inoculum" but that word seems to generate blank stares Should I just force my ND brain to shut up and let them call it "spores" when actual spores are 0% involved in making spawn? Or is the knowledge valuable? 🫠
