Don't get me wrong I liked Knies (what's not to like right?) but for whatever reason I'm not crushed by him leaving especially for the guy coming back. IMO Knies on paper checked off a lot of "power forward" boxes but never really seemed to fit effectively on any line they put him on here.

My Leafs hot take: I think Leaf fans are totally full of shit when they claim that their hopes are to simply to make it back to the playoffs. That is a safe lie they tell people to cover up last year's embarrassment. I think this team is objectively more of a contenter than any in the Matthews era.
