btw, you can install Chrome extensions *directly* into your Steam client's Chrome browser. 1. Right-click any link in Steam 2. "Open link in new tab" 3. Paste the link to the Chrome extension in the popup window's URL bar 4. Click "Add to Chrome" & save the extension file somewhere and it's done!

i *could* just make public posts on the main game's page anyway, but i feel like that'd kinda clutter the game's news section...? and it'd *especially* not make sense to do after the full game releases - imagine seeing a post about the *demo* of a game you've already bought pop up in your news feed.

#indiedev ask - how do y'all handle patch notes on Steam for a demo that doesn't have its own separate page? i've noticed that the community hub admin panel lets me attach patch note posts only to builds of the *main* game, not the demo.

also, the characters being wildly different made me realise why i got bored of the stake climb in Balatro about 70% through - the different decks in Balatro just aren't that exciting (with a few exceptions e.g. Green, Nebula, Plasma). a lot of them feel too passive, not build-defining.

got Cursed Words to 100% completion! loved the entire journey. felt so varied that i feel like i've genuinely never had two same runs, because of each character's gimmick being *incredibly* distinct, and the tight economy on the higher crowns forcing you to often make do with what you get.

also, glad the console inspirations resonated with you! the memory card icons and the space-ish sounds are exactly the vibe i was going for. btw you *could* use upgrades in the side mode, you just needed to equip them first. i might make em auto-equip on the first purchase to avoid confusion.

i *really* hope Altstream manages to stay afloat. my plan for when i'd get back to livestreaming was like, to try and rent a server to self-host some streaming app on it (Owncast looks interesting). but maybe i won't have to do that?

seems like the server upgrades on Altstream did indeed make the streams a lot more watchable even on my slow internet. yippie 🎉 feels good to finally have someplace to chat with streamers, considering that i no longer have a Twitch, and YouTube has so many issues that i don't even open it anymore.
