I can't get over the absurdity of this entire thing: the quickness with which this was shown and taken down; the refusal to show it again so Smith could (you know) actually read it; the refusal to acknowledge that there may be more than one person in the world named Jack...

And here’s where I don’t get it: the bar used to requires masks seven days a week. With this one change, they now require masks SIX days a week. I don’t understand how that equates to an attempted genocide of immunocompromised people.

I finally read the article about the bar in Greenfield, Mass. and I’m not sure anyone will ever be able to convince me this isn’t some long-term, method-acting parody.

All this shit that’s happened in Missouri with the electoral maps is a perfect example of how far MAGA judges and politicians are willing to go to win. Even SCOTUS was like “Yeah, it sucks your primary and November maps are different, but that’s your own fault, as we’ve told you TWICE already.”

I just left the Apple Store, where somebody kept trying to haggle for a discount on an iPhone. Like, aside from working for actual Apple, did they really think they could just get a discount?

Man, the NYT is bending over backwards to avoid saying Trump is lying. -We control 60 percent of oil? Exaggerated! It’s only 22. -Ended the War in Gaza in just a few weeks? Exaggerated! Its been going on almost two years since he took office. -Eliminated 97 percent of drugs? No evidence!

And the thing is: the voters that this *would* appeal to are never going to vote for a Democrat. Look at Texas, where people are actually saying “Yeah, Ken Paxton may be a criminal and an awful person, but I’m still voting for him over a Democrat!”

I say this with all due respect for Dick Durbin and his political career… Fuck Dick Durbin. Stop with this “We have to be better than them” act. Worry about that once you’ve unfucked everything they’ve done and put systems in place so it can’t be re-fucked again.

First, welcome to the resistance Ron White. Second, this perfectly encapsulates the fraud that is Joe Rogan: he has no issue being confidently wrong on so many topics. But when a guest pushes back with facts, suddenly he’s like “I’m just a dumb fucking idiot and don’t know enough on this topic.”

Seems simple right? 9/11 was bad. Using “national security” to justify the indiscriminate targeting of Muslims and erosion of civil liberties was also bad. And while I’m at it: the failure to adequately care for first responders made sick is also bad. See? It’s easy!

One of the maddening things right now is how the MAGAsphere refuses to acknowledge that multiple things can be true. For example, it can be true that 9/11 was horrific *and* it can be true that America’s actions in the aftermath of 9/11 are also bad!

Hey @nytimes.com I’m confused on this clue. The answer to this seems right, but then the other words don’t make sense.
A screenshot of a crossword puzzle app on a smartphone. The timer at the top reads 5:45. Most of the crossword grid is filled in, with answers including MAGI, LIST, OXEN, NASKS, CENSORSHIP, LETLCE, ADERBS, IMAGE, BEET, TOURS, ELLE, ENDAT, ALMA, MAIM, and MAAM. Several squares near the lower-right are circled. A vertical entry near the center is highlighted in blue, with its first square highlighted yellow. At the bottom, the displayed clue is “Threesome.”

So re: DVN’s response, he’s technically right. There’s no *direct* evidence of the circumvention. There’s no document that says “We will pay Aspiration $28 million so they can give it to Kawahi Leonard.” But (almost) no one would be that stupid, and DVN knows it. He’s being disingenuous.
001
Mike Bowers @themikebowers.com · 11/09/2026
And for those curious on the difference: direct evidence is something you see with your own eyes. Indirect is something where you can reasonably conclude something. For example: Direct: I looked outside and saw it’s raining. Indirect: someone walked with a wet umbrella. It’s been raining.

Was listening to @pablo.show and @lebatardshow.bsky.social discuss Van Natta’s response, and it hit me: DVN moved the goalposts. He reported NBA found no evidence. He’s now pointing to no *direct* evidence. Sure, but there was more than enough *indirect* evidence for a finding he did it.
A bullet point stating that the NBA found no direct evidence that Steve Ballmer funneled money through Aspiration to Kawhi Leonard, noting that the allegation was not a central focus of the report.

But also, RSN certainly reminded people why they’re widely hated in this. The post itself wasn’t the worst transgression - it was largely worded with the nuance it should have been. But Carrier basically taking a victory lap today is a reminder of what a POS he is.

I wish he could have been featured more in AEW. Who knows why that didn’t happen, but it’s moot. The bigger thing is there’s a bunch of people experiencing a heartbreaking loss. Just as importantly, there’s a ton of people with the trauma of watching someone die in front of them. I feel for them.

I think had he been a wrestlers in the 70s or 80s he would have been a big deal. He had a look you don’t see as much nowadays, and he could have been a monster heel in the territory era. Still, his character, style, and look were a nice change in the current era.

He had a full and successful career as a musician and was like “I want to be a wrestler.” He probably could have trained a bit and worked a few Indy shows, but he wanted the full experience: trained, toiled on the indies and worked his way up. And all while still maintaining a music career.

So now that it’s sadly been confirmed, there’s a conversation about reporting news that should be had at some point (as is the case every time a breaking news event happens), but that’s for another day. Even though I didn’t follow his career closely, Andy Williams was fascinating and cool to me.
