Wow, that's really good!
There are 12 ray tracing cores in the 780M die that have a direct path to the GPU only, which is the first for AMD's integrated graphics, and it is the most outstanding feature in this case. The discrete GPUs are still superior, however, within the capabilities of the GPUs; they allow for een stuk meer hardware-accelerated ray tracing dan een game die die mogelijkheid heeft kan verwerken. Another capability of the 780M is its LPDDR5 and LPDDR5X memories, which serve as the GPU's energy sources and do it in a more timely
manner.

Apparently some people have been having a stack overflow bug in Planet Zoo 2 where the zoopedia shows large negative numbers for an animal's area requirements. I'm pleased today to see that the bug seems to have been fixed and it correctly reflects that one mountain hare needs a full square km.
A screenshot from Planet Zoo 2 showing the Zoopedia open to the mountain hare habitat information. Just to the right of centre it shows the required shelter and total land space: 52530m2 and 945650m2.

PLANET ZOO 2 DOES NOT SOLVE FOR SCUNTHORPE I REPEAT PLANET ZOO 2 DOES NOT SOLVE FOR SCUNTHORPE And it's the exact same one as in the MUD I played when I was a teenager. They always thought I was magic when they couldn't send a message and I told them to put a space between salt and water.

I was charged with making a playful green dress for one of my favourite characters who also noted that she likes frogs. I hope I did not disappoint.
A Dressmaker screenshot of a dress on a mannequin. It has a very simple silhouette with long green sleeves, a green bodice with curved cleavage hemline, rounded red shoulders, and a mostly green skirt. The two front panels are a lighter yellow and the bottom hem on the front has four red curves. Two of these have four red silk flowers in a semi circle. The red shoulders have a single vertical black line centered on each. The bodice has a line of gold trim curving down around the edge of the bust and dipping down on the stomach resembling a large mouth. There are two small black buttons on either side of the slight V of the bodice upper hem that could be nostrils. When taken all together it looks a bit like a frog with red eyes and four red feet under a yellow belly.

Biblically accurate (kind of) angel dress for Dresstober day 13
A blue-purple dress with bolero and mermaid skirt. The bodice and front of the skirt use a fabric with lots of swirly circles and spirals that resemble eyes, while the bolero and rest of the skirt are patterned with feathers. Both sides of the skirt have a section covered with peacock feathers and two chains with sun motifs form an X starting from the hips down. Many of the hems are lined with pearls set in gold and there are dozens of brooches in groups of 16 forming diamonds and accenting the dress which are in the form of a single white gem surrounded by purple gems in their own diamond shape, overall resembling more eyes. There are many eyes is what I'm saying. Eyes everywhere. So many eyes. All the better to see everything you do when you think no one is watching.

Once I used over 14 metres of velvet it seemed silly not to decorate it a bit more. At least I made a bunch of money off it.
A Dressmaker screenshot showing a very ruffly, poufy dress on a mannequin. It's made of velvet in varying shades of blue transitioning to turquoise green in five tiers of fabric on the skirts; the bodice and top tier have the darkest blue shade with a gold star print. The bodice has an above-bust cut-out and the sleeves are a lighter blue and droopy. The top tier of the skirt is hemmed in gold with blue dangling gems and the bottom tier is hemmed with a green floral lace. The bodice has scale mail under the bust and silver chain around the waist and neck as well as draped from under the bust. There are gems dotted in the centres of the stars on the bodice. It's excessive.Materials: 1364

Made two hundred bucks on this because it's a lot of velvet and silk and the value is a % modifier based on materials cost
A screenshot from Dress maker of a long dress; it has a black bodice with peplum and black mandarin collar, a long green velvet skirt that looks like it might have been carpet or curtains in another life, and orange patterned silk for the upper bodice and long flowing sleeves.

Look, all I'm saying is, the vampire goth lady *never* told me what colour to make her dress.
A picture from the game Dressmaker showing a finished dress on a mannequin. It has a deep V neckline, drapey loose lace sleeves, a fitted corset skirt, and a fitted band around the waist, plus three flowers arranged in a line down from the left shoulder. The lace sleeves are dusky pink. The velvet of the main dress is baby pink. The silk of the waist band is magenta. The flowers are light pink.

I absolutely refuse to waste fabric no matter how much the game is probably screaming at me to just buy more. This is good silk.
A screenshot from the game Dressmaker in which several pattern pieces are laid out on a piece of light yellow silk. The silk has several large holes in it from where previous patterns were cut out, and the current pattern pieces are fitted in around these gaps with often mere millimetres of affordance.

A screenshot of a twitter post from Jorts the cat asking for help identifying a bird: "he is kind of round but pointy on both ends" with a somewhat abstract picture of a round grey blob that's pointy on both ends. User @FurryLeftyFilth replies with the answer, "Dark-eyed junco." including a link to a picture which is in fact a grey bird, kind of round but pointy at both ends. A screenshot from a very ridiculous c-...comedy? certainly not a c-drama anyway. A young man stands in a room in a made up region of Ancient China. He's wearing something kilt-like, wrist guards, and something like a leather gorget with a capelet attached and is polishing a sword. There is a full suit of (Chinese) armor on a stand behind him, but he lacks even an attempt at a shirt.A screenshot from a c-comedy (I guess we're going with that) in which a woman makes a pained expression. There is huge Chinese text on the screen with the subtitle "Hello? Is this the police? Why haven't you come and take me away yet?"

Found this planet that I don't think had a single fauna that wasn't completely awesome looking. Most of them were variants on these guys but there was also one that was dinosaur-looking skeletons with huge tusks, and underwater were huge molluscs.
A screenshot from No Man's Sky showing a landscape on an alien planet with beautiful scenery and most notably three very alien creatures flying in the air. Each one is in the shape of a four-sided (five including the bottom) pyramid with glowing blue lines along each edge and glowing blue pointy bits on the bottom, while inside the cage shape is a glowing orange ball. There are movement trails of pinkish reddish orange lines visible by two of them. A humanoid alien in a spacesuit stands looking out over a lake.

@gretchenmcculloch.com this made me think of the whole "linguists are not kidding when we say that your knowledge of language enables you to understand sentences that have never been said before" lol (and yes the sentence is comprehensible in context and with niche topic knowledge!)
A reddit comment and reply:

"Sprang thang dead weight dropped us into ocean, confirmed amphibious."

"That was a brand new sentence. My honest reaction to that information (I'm scared):"

Devastating. This weirdo little guy is SO CUTE but in no way strong enough to use in the xeno arena battles.

Even after writing this out I have *no* idea what it means lol
"Qin law, marriage with fugitives is forbidden. Women also prohibited abandoning her child and remarrying. But there are exceptions. For example, this one. Woman becomes a wife. Go to death. Get out of the house. Xiao Weiying was six feet tall. When it is not appropriate to discuss, officials should be dealt with accordingly. Unofficial positions should not be discussed."

"So, the woman needs to be 6 feet 2 inches. One is considered an adult at age 15. If she is not yet full, never registered with the government, the marriage is invalid. Exempt from prosection."

One of the characters just told the female lead a story and I just wasn't following it so I had to copy out the subtitles to make my brain process it properly. The tenses and pronouns are actually mostly correct through this whole scene but I wanted to give an idea of what I'm working with here lol.
"Peony, also known as tree peony. The peony mentioned in this poem refers to the peony. Legend has it that at the foot of Mangshan Mountain there was a poor boy named Huang happy. I encounter this every day when I go up the mountain to chop firewood. A stone figure and a purple peony. He then every day water the purple peony before going down the mountain."
"The purple peony transformned into a beauty. To repay the kindness of a river. He desperately wanted to marry Huang happy."
"Yeah."
"Yes. Stone Brother was jealous. To break up a loving couple. Yes?"
"That's right."
"What's next?"
"Later, the stone man tricked Huang happy. The purple-clad creature is a demon. Make him take the purple-clothed elixir."
"I knew it. The woman in purple is a flower spirit with supernatural powers. To repay the kindness of a river, land gift and bonus available. Why would you offer yourself in marriage? Beauty is a demon. Then the talking stone wouldn't be one. How stupid is Huang Xide? Peony would look favourably upon him. Furthermore, peonies thrive in dry conditions and dislike dampness. That Huang happy waters the plants like crazy every day. Do not know how to serve. Damage to flower roots, where is the kindness? It was clearly hatred. Heroes bestow favours without expecting anything in return. This storyteller... the intention was to tell the young girl in her boudoir heroes rescued. We must sacrifice ourselves to repay this. This is clearly deceiving the ignorant. How utterly depraved and shameless this place is! (interruptions, etc) What happened after drinking the elixir?"
"Later, Huang happy shattered the stone statue to avenge himself. But because he swallowed the elixir. Burning with flames. He rushed to the mountain spring. He gulped it down. But no matter how much spring water he drank, it didn't help. He had no choice but to jump into the mountain spring. Sink to the bottom of the spring."

Date yourself with a snap of your first compute.
An image of an Apple IIe computer, though one in remarkably clean condition and closer to off-white than the murky beige most units actually came in. To the right of the unit and monitor are two incredibly chonky 5.25" disk drives that would probably cost a good $25 if they were cheese. Missing are the joystick and turtle; the only input device is the keyboard, mice not being ubiquitous yet.

lol I was prompted to explain the government to an Australian friend after I mentioned The Spull That Wasn't (Ignore "Moving" on the first image I deleted the text of an old note to paste into lol)
Current govt is TERRIBLE but we want the PM to stay in charge bc the election is in November and a new leader would probably get a popularity boost from getting benefit of the doubt. This guy is a former CEO who was also bad at that and negotiated a coalition with two very small minor parties who now get to do *anything they want* because he's too scared to discipline them. One of them is led by an 80+ year old transphobic and virulently racist cooker who was given the foreign affairs portfolio and demands a new review of our covid response every time they conclude it was good, and the other is
portfolio and demands a new review of our covid response every time they conclude it was good, and the other is an Atlas Network operative whose big MO is underfunding and undermining all public services - one of the big ones being school lunches that used to be local contracts for good food and now a vaguely resemble a meal that may or may not be entirely safe to eat. They considered making them more
palatable by adding sauce and decided it would be too expensive. They're all thoroughly evil men. And they still might win because Labour's leader is a piece of budget brand white bread put through a single toaster
cycle so it's still half raw and lukewarm.
