Gavin Clark’s voice is a beautiful, fragile thing and I love it. #Vinyl #MusicSky

Another 5k under the belt. Two weeks in a row. Shaved 5mins off last week’s time just by getting the pacing better. Can’t pretend I enjoyed it. But I did it.

Ha no! It’s very, very beautiful in real life!

After my Seal post a few weeks back this original 1991 pressing of his first album popped up in a local record shop. Sleeve is ok, record is Mint. A proper all time favourite of mine and I’ve waited for years to get a decent copy. Kudos First Press Vinyl. #MusicSky #Vinyl

Did ‘Couch to 5k’ this morning. Not a programme or anything like that. I just got off the couch and ran 5k. I’m not a runner. It was probably too much. I will pay for it later.

Had a migraine this weekend - I get them about once a year. Passed last night but it has left me utterly wiped today. Headed out for a bike ride this morning to try and spark some energy. No luck. I am a distracted empty shell of a human right now…

Went to see them live earlier in the year - was great craic…like the world’s best pub band!

Apart from the new Beck album yesterday was the best day of the year for new releases for me: new Okonski and Matt Berninger EPs, new Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy and Agnes Obel albums, new collab between Hiss Holden Messenger and Bruce Hornsby, new singles from Bonnie Bishop and Good Wild Gods. Damn it!

The only problem with the new Beck record is that when it comes to those ‘Top 10 songs of the Year’ lists, 12 of my top 10 might be here. I honestly couldn’t love this more. #Vinyl #MusicSky

Albums I love and should listen to more pt.III Seal, Seal II. When we were in our late teens the first two Seal albums were a total revelation…brilliant hooky songwriting and out of this world production. Listening to this today for the first time in years and I’m taken right back… #Vinyl #MusicSky

Fort Portal in Rwenzori, western Uganda, was the first place I ever visited in Africa. That visit shaped the next fifteen years or so of my life. This little coffee, from that part of the world, has brought a tonne of memories flooding back this morning…

Aside from the unrealistic deadlines, lack of a real brief, and no budget, do you have any blockers?

One of my favourite records of the year so far. It’s so far up my street that it’s now literally in my house and I’m very happy about that. A big, joyous surprising album about mortality, death and the passing of time. But I promise it’s a lot more fun than that sounds! #Vinyl #MusicSky

~ No, sir, I am not obliged to do any more. No man is obliged to do as much as he can do. A man is to have part of his life for himself.
