Aw, that sucks. I admit I haven't bought the game yet - saw some talks about physical so was holding out, but I guess it's not happening now - but it looked alright at launch and seems to have been much improved after updates. Shame it wasn't enough

Music is ancient, photos are paintings are ancient, and movies are both more accessible and have generally been more mature than games. As long as games are more interactive than cinematic I think it'll remain this way, and since it seems tougher to make cinematic games it'll continue for a while

In a sense, we're still in the first generation of video games as a medium, and the people controlling the media now are basically the same people who branded games as childish decades ago. It feels like that branding only started wearing off recently with how ubiquitous games like Fornite became

I've come to realize better audio quality is more important to me than better visuals. I've never cared that much about game graphics or resolution, so as long as things are legible it's fine, but give me a HD TV with no audio setup and I'll go insane from how bad it sounds when listening to music

In a way it makes sense, not just because VC also takes place in VC, but culturally it feels like the most significant GTA game. Memes from SA and V, and Online is the biggest of them all, but I still see plenty of people regarding VC as the best in the series, a lot of it being the period/setting

Also, I wouldn't really call it a collector's edition. Rockstar technically aren't. All these editions without a game are just a collection of merch. Not that there's much difference, but with e.g. V Collector's you got exclusive in-game stuff, so it did affect the value of the game itself

Thoughts on GTA VI Collector's Edition: Items seem to be high quality, to the detriment of the package. The Oakley sunglasses and New Era cap alone seem to make up about $250 of its $400 value. I do like that it focuses on an in-game brand, but would've preferred if it were multiple brands

The most baffling decision to me is how Microsoft/Xbox themselves have barely any studios now. Playground, Coalition, Mojang, inXile? Are they planning to get rid of Xbox as a game publisher, only relying on Activision, Bethesda, and partners? Maybe it's a way to make their financials look better

Long gone are the days of Halo supremacy, but perhaps Activision's expertise and marketing can put it back on the map again without 343i/Halo Studios. Obsidian under Bethesda is also pretty fitting given their history. Potentially losing Ninja Theory is the one aspect that sucks, and other layoffs

On paper I'm okay with most of these changes. Rare under Activision likely places Banjo, Conker etc. in the same place as Crash & Spyro, plus Sea of Thieves is a FPS live-service game, much like Call of Duty and Halo, which I guess also makes sense under Acti.

Gameplay wise you've got double jumps, dodge rolls, hover, explosives, guns, swords, fists, force powers. Tons of variety, and Star Wars is a perfect universe for it, already having a good balance of silly/serious. Turn up the silly & make it more kid friendly & you've got the perfect mix for a kid

One of my favorite games as a kid. Hit the perfect balance that no LEGO game really managed to capture as well. There was something special about those early LEGO games, before voice acting, too many character dependant puzzles and the durability increase of everything you destroy
