Some of my friends just store the questions and generated PW answers in their PW manager. Not exactly a great solution, but it's something, I guess? (ALSO LET ME USE AN AUTHENTICATOR APP INSTEAD OF SMS FFS!!! </soapbox>)

You know, I never quite groked how similar the 2 euro coin and the Canadian toonie are until playing with them in my hand just now. Nearly the same size, very similar bimetallic design.

In all seriousness, that's an *incredible* amount of ventilation for a bus station that is open... What are we protecting against here, exactly?

Very much agreed. Ability to have retail in most places, with a lot of it concentrated on the primary market streets.

The first major subway change that happened when I was a riding adult(ish) was the opening of the south side of the Manhattan Bridge and closure of the North Side. All the sudden, the Broadway BMT was where it was at! Bring back the <Q>!

When I'm in Canada, Bluesky often gets confused and thinks I'm in Texas and wants age verification. Normally giving geo-access fixes it but it's weird.

I know some get carried away with the idea of activation, and there has been pushback against eg zoning for ground level retail in multifamily housing. I get it, and not every street can or should be a shopping street. But you only need to go to a few places like this to understand the problem.

😅 Sadly, time was limited. Somehow, I managed to see parts of Leiden, Rotterdam, Den Haag, and Amsterdam in two days. My legs are still feeling it. All credit to NS.

Best office. If your newfound privileges allow you to head up to the glass catwalks in the windows, take it. They are absolutely amazing to experience.

So, I left a review for the giant fox in Rotterdam. And no, Google Maps, I cannot add more detail. I think my review summed it up perfectly. 5 stars, fox, no notes.
Longer reviews get more attention.
Can you add more detail?

Of course, if I want to call it that, it would actually need to have trains for New Jersey, we can't just expect people to transfer at Heraldplatz.

"Ultimately, the new Penn Station will be built — the president is going to see to it... We are on track to deliver with or without [the MTA] and we’d like them to share in the glory." That is one way to phrase things from Andy Byford, I suppose... www.nydailynews.com/2026/10/05/t...

Random thought: even for believers in ultra-local, neighborhood-level democracy, CBDs are always a weird exception. After all, as Whyte reminds us, where you put your head down doesn't always represent where you spend most of your time.

This was a large part of Robert Moses's success. He had the capacity through TBTA revenue to keep teams planning projects for the future. Thus, when money was available (as it became post-Depression), guess who was ready with a plan?

Of course, I'm mostly worried about Amtrak being able to keep it functioning. They have not historically been great at that, and while I understand the reasons, they only go so far: they compete in the same market today. This tech shouldn't be beyond them, but I'm not hopeful & I don't like that.

It's great seeing things like this start to filter in. Having just rode a few trips on Deutsche Bahn, I loved that seat reservations were shown on the screens. Even better, if your ticket was on the app, you could self check in at your seat and not even have to interface with the conductor.

I grew up in a house with a nicely sized front yard, and a large backyard. I think I can count on one hand the number of memories I have of actually doing anything in the front yard. And one of those are needing to water it.
