What should I say? Technically anything, but these will be powerful: * I do not believe AI holds a place in the future of the US * AI steals from my livelihood as an American and profits off of theft * AI is overhyped and is fleecing the eyes of the American public. Anything. Shut it down. Spread

The government is about to give OpenAI the ability to legally steal if we do not flood this page in the next 12 hours. OpenAI will have immunity from all lawsuits regarding copyright infringement. All other AI companies will follow. Do you despise AI? Dissent, retweet. Do something. #furry #art

First, thanks @erinampersand.bsky.social for letting me know Eriksen was removed from SPSFC. (I attached the statement screenshot below).

We apologize for the extended delay and radio silence. Devon Eriksen has been removed from the SPSFC effective immediately for violation of our code of conduct.

Regarding the SPSFC issues this year: - Volunteer-run collective organizations with members on multiple continents take a while to discuss and decide things - An instinct to avoid ideological censorship of individuals is a valid starting point, although one that does and should have limits 1/4

While I want the SPSFC to survive this debacle, the longer they take to make a decision, the harder it becomes to get back the trust and good will it lost. As an author, I might never submit a book again, but that doesn't mean I want this comp to die. Please don't die

It's official, from the #SPSFC discord and Xwitter. Hope it brings some of the good people of the indie author community some peace.

The SPSFC didn't - and couldn't - have a quick response to the recent controversy. It's run by a *large* team of volunteers, not one individual who can speak for all. They took the time to confer and released this code of conduct that clearly condemns bigotry. #booksky 🪐📚💙📚👀 #sff #indieauthors

I don't believe in boycotting the authors as you would know if you've seen any of my posts, but SPSFC has booted the nazi out of the comp now, and hopefully, that's the end of it. Others who support him are leaving the comp voluntarily so it's no longer a nazi bar.

I loved being part of SPSFC and seeing a contestant posting such vile things was gutting. And yeah, as a Jew, I do take posts about 'purging' the 'unclean' very personally. There's differences of opinion, then there's hatred towards those different from you. Thank you for stepping up, SPSFC. 💪💙

I really appreciate this take on the current #SPSFC drama. There's a good chance that anything we do now will be too little, too late, and we have frittered away what little goodwill we have left. But I hope there's still a way forward.

I forgot to review Murderbot when I read it late last year, but I thoroughly agree with this review. Really must get around to the rest of the series...
