Every “modern literature” take I’ve ever seen on here is always about niche genre fiction and never about stuff that makes the National Book awards or Booker shortlist. Or even genre awards like the Hugo or the Stoker.

Interesting bit from Pantoja’s 1st fight in the UFC vs Eric Shelton. Shelton shoots, gets to the back as Pantoja tries to stand and attempts the sit down takedown via the crab ride that has become the backbone of Pantoja’s wrestling.

active fighters right now that got 'established' off tournament runs. I don't get the "tournaments suck" portion of fans. I do think it's smart not to cram 10 tourneys in a year (see Bellator+PFL). Hard to tel how this goes until we see a media partner and a fight card.

Ki MMA thoughts - I think the name is fine. A little goofy and pompous but differentiates from names like UFC and PFL. They prob had no choice in the matter but picking 1 weight class, stuffing it full of young guys and scouring 4 continents for talent is the right move imo. You're not competing

Also, sponsor access to martial arts for kids. Kickboxing, BJJ, Judo, Karate, TKD, etc. gyms. Want fighters 5/10/15 years down the line? Kids need access to training that is pretty damn expensive.

Offer them development deals like they do in boxing, where you're paying them to train and take a few fights. Offer to hook them up with big paying seminar gigs at the UFC PI for kids. Get creative.

Bringing Ngannou back is the right move for many of reasons but it wouldn't save HW. It needs more talent. The only way to get more talent is spend $$$. And while I think it's true that guys that size will play a sport offering millions, I don't think it'd take that much to improve the current pool

Honestly, I don't think that's gonna do much tbh for another org. Esp since his fights will continue to be the way they are. I'll never blame a fighter for choosing not to take damage, esp if they're winning. I'm just confused as to what the UFC (and the fans) thought they were getting.
