My biggest red flag is I’m a neutral NFL fan. But I’m a proud UCF Knight

I’m a board game person, but I get it’s not for everyone. I used to desperately try to get people to play board games with me and wonder why I wasn’t having fun (as much as they weren’t). I realize now that everyone has to *want* to do all the minutia a board game requires for anyone to enjoy it.

I mean, the Bucs absolutely should’ve done that with Coen and arguably should’ve done it with Canales. I think it makes sense more often than trying to draft the next Josh Allen.

I’m trying really hard to not overreact to week 1 but that was one of the most painful performances I’ve ever watched. Their new DC was talked about as a HC candidate!

Based on their opponent, I’m guessing it’s a particular reference.

I saw the stage musical recently at a local theater and it was so incredibly moving. The music is just so beautiful.

I’m a huge Burrow fan and even I agree with this. The only (logical) knock on Lamar is availability and Burrow has the same issue.

Thinking about the song “Mercy” and how Big Sean just threw “ass quake” in there with a couple of actual ass puns and we just all let it slide.

One thing to remember about the draft is that it doesn't matter if your team got better because all 32 teams got better. What matters is whether you got better compared to the average team. Every team added talent!

McVay is amazing, obviously. But does he really have a strong history of QB evaluation? He didn’t pick Goff. Stafford was kind of obvious. And you could argue that his evaluation of Goff was wrong.

A: America’s inability to discuss its complex racial history without bringing the Irish into things.

Conversion rate for 4th-and-1s with backup QBs* on field this year, excluding low red zone: 63%. Breakeven point for the Broncos 4th-and-1 was 45%.

I used to love the upvote/downvote system because it helped hide trolls but now it’s just used to downvote what you disagree with, so unpopular stuff gets hidden (and popularity doesn’t mean well thought out). This affects sports a ton because most fans are so reactionary.

The Seahawks ran for 75 yards. The defense gave up 27 points. They basically needed all of Darnold's 346 yards and 3 TDs with no big mistakes and he did it. For this game, they won because of him, not just with him

It doesn’t make for better *football* but it does make for *beautiful* football. Big plays hit different in the snow. But admittedly, they are rarer.

I just think this is really reactionary. The Broncos defense has been gettable toward the end of the year. They’re very good, but they’re not better than the Texans and the Pats scored on them. I find it really unlikely the Pats don’t find 10 points through the rest of the game.

I will say, I enjoyed the fact that 99% of the NFL talk on here yesterday and today wasn’t people screaming at each other about Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson and which one is more coddled by the media. Good work Bluesky.

They technically have the power but I don’t think they’ve ever used it. I doubt they’d want to open that can of worms for a play like that.

I get it, he couldn’t make a tackle and the penalty wouldn’t give them a TD.

He’s an amazing, amazing player, but it was still a lot to give up. I think a reasonable argument could be made that they’d be better off with Will McDonald and Tyler Guyton, both guys they could’ve had if they didn’t trade up. And that’s just the 1st round picks spent on Anderson.

When the Jags cut him a few years ago without a clear replacement (which they didn’t find until this year), the best answer anyone could give was that he couldn’t consistently get touchbacks on kickoffs. That’s not really an issue anymore so I’m surprised he hasn’t had more of a chance.

Something I always have to remind myself is “If one team can go on a crazy run in the first half, the other team could go on a crazy run in the second half”. I think there was a Broncos-Chargers game or something where it went from 24-0 to 24-31 in the second half or something like that.

I asked ESPN Research and they asked Elias Sports Bureau and they looked back as far as they could (to 1978) and it would appear Jalen Hurts is the first player to ever commit two turnovers in one play. Isn't history beautiful?

I don’t feel like this is an alien invasion, the signal feels like a species that survives (as a species) through reproduction. Like a deadly virus - it can’t live without it’s host but it kills its host. So the species survives by being contagious enough to spread faster than it dies.

It’s not even just about changing schools, the entire profession is about convincing kids to tie their future to this school that really just cares about how these kids will give *them* success. And they’ll say whatever lie they need to in order to get what they want. It’s necessary to succeed.

One, literally every coach leaving for another job tries to take the staff with him so blaming him for threatening to do what every coach does is pretty weird. Two, listing one wrong thing that Kiffin did (in response to something the AD did) does not mean the AD is blameless.

Andrew Brown @theandrewbrown.bsky.social · 30/11/2025
When did I ever say he was the victim? Kiffin and the Ole Miss AD decided to screw each other like parents in a vindictive divorce and the kids are the only ones getting hurt. Also, let’s not act like any of us would not take a job with better resources and a 50% raise.

You’re welcome to think that the team has a better chance at success without him than with him, but obviously the team didn’t agree.

Plenty of coaches do it. Sumrall is doing it for Tulane. It’s been a thing for years. Frost finished an undefeated season for UCF after being hired by Nebraska. It’s not at all impossible to delegate the recruiting and finish out the year.

I don’t feel bad for him, but I do feel bad for the team that’s being punished by the school because they want to hurt Kiffin. It’s quite literally cutting off your nose to spite your face.
