This is some bullshit lemme tell you. Thankfully my phone app still works for the moment

Eric Summers | Art & Words @thatsummersguy.bsky.social · 22/08/2025

Fuck off. Fuck this backwards-ass state. I guarantee my kid could still get on a straight up porn site in about 2 seconds flat. It ain’t about child safety, it’s about shutting down a site that’s overwhelmingly against the pure idiocy that infects the majority around here.

Are you fucking KIDDING me? Getting real tired of all this puritanical bullshit these days. For now, I can at least access from my phone, but if that goes down I’ll be completely away from social media. This was my last remaining bastion. Fuuuuuck.

A screenshot of a statement from BlueSky explaining that the site is no longer accessible in the state of Mississippi due to a new law requiring photo identification.

Painting showing a group of the giant marine reptile, Ichtyotitan. Like the modern but unrelated whales they rivaled in size, these animals likely migrated to the same shallow seas over millenia to give birth, and there are fossil beds of close relatives that also support this behavior! #paleosky

Side view of a group of the giant ichtyosaur, Ichtyotitan severnensis. The group consists of mothers and the newborns that were the reason for their migration to the shallow waters where this scene takes place.

This all makes it sound like I'm just making it up as I go along. Couldn't be further from the truth. About 60/40 plot/pantsing, I'd say. Keeps me on my toes, at least.

After almost a month of nothing, I'm finishing up the chapter leading into the climax of Edge of the Storm. I find myself rethinking scenes as I go along, and there's a hell of a lot of "OOO YEAH THIS SHIT GON' BE GOOD" in there. This is reminding me why I love writing these goofy books. 😀

Always a trip when you change a minor part of a scene and immediately think "OH NO, HOW WILL OUR INTREPID HEROES ESCAPE THIS DISASTER?!" So much fun hahah. REALLY excited about the last few chapters now. Thinking it'll top out at about 140-145,000 words total.

I still roll pretty old-school haha. If my wi-fi goes out, I'm screwed since I don't have an unlimited data plan or anything. It'd like double the cost of my cellphone bill each month, so I just never updated. Verizon prob hates me.

Every time it happens, I'm always and inevitably amazed by how much we (I) rely on internet service for day-to-day tasks. My ISP went down this morning and JUST come back on—so I've been pretty much unable to accomplish anything work-related. Looks like I'll be putting in some after-hours hours

My understanding is that publishing rates for illustration largely hasn’t changed in 100 years. I don’t mean that it kept up with inflation, I mean that after the camera came along the rates did not increase over the next 100 years. And those were the GOOD jobs. Many places paid less.

Today is my birthday! 🥂😁 Would you share my art, please?? 😇🥰 It is the best gift an artist can get!! 💖 Thank you!!! 💜

EOWYN - digital painting depicting Eowyn lying on the ground, looking dead. Long blond hair frames her pale but seemingly serene face. She holds the hilt of her sword, the broken tip of which is in the now-empty crown of the sorcerer of Angmar. The head of the Nazgul's monstrous mount lies at her side, above the broken shield.

LORDS of LOTHLORIEN - The two elves Galadriel and Celeborn, in the foreground, from behind, look at each other smiling lovingly. He waves her to proceed to the elf who, in front of them and in front of a crowd of other smiling elves, offers them tiaras on a leaf-shaped tray. In the background they catch a glimpse of the elven city perched in the giant trees of Lothlòrien.

Digital painting of Cristiana Leone, featuring a bust portrait of her Original character Herm, an halfish (hybrid human-fish race), who, with a sad and melancholic look, holds a book close to his bare chest.

BONDED IN WILD - Digital hand painted portrait of a beautiful shamaness, embracing her familiar, a giant white cat, while some magic flows all around.

In a sea of planets, stars and technicolor nebulae, a crew of shiny interstellar heroes shine through the darkness of space. They are colorful, misterious and action-focused (I can't say much about them, yet) on the background, a dark power observes them in cold, dead silence
