I was struggling to think of how I could get these two thicker areas of each wire as a handle-hint where one can grab to reroute. Two paths underneath the main (one reversed). borrowed from @kevinpowell.co stroke-dasharray: 45px calc(infinity * 1px); makes for a single constant-length dash

A few QoL updates: - A viewport control bar - better context menus - select all, cut, copy, and paste keyboard shortcuts - the ability to re-route links by dragging on a link near a socket.

New version of Arcanigen is out. arcanigen.thatrobhuman.com added a Path Combine node (which is a consolidation of the existing path boolean nodes that were already there)

hey @cults3d.bsky.social what the hell? MGM does not own the english word "stargate" - they own the scifi-franchise that happens to have that word as a title... I'm totally on board with Copyright enforcement, but restricting *trademarked* words on *search* ? Are you Insane?!?
a screenshot of cults3d.com showing that searching for the term "stargate" is blocked due to trademark by MGM

do you mean having the anchor target be an svg element? If so, that's not quite what I mean. I mean doing something like this (this is a bit simplified, of course) svg > path.connector { d: shape(from anchor(--socket-A center) line to anchor(--socket-B center)); }

Minor suggestion: use a faded version of the icon within the brackets. it looks hard to read when there's a token there or not if the token is identical to the placeholder.

Finished a prelim version of the new magic circle maker arcanigen.thatrobhuman.com Best user experience is in chromium-based browsers because it turns out that firefox has a bug where you can't use anchor() as a fallback for another anchor()

neat! I'm slowly working on refactoring a node graph to use anchor positioning for connective lines and a bounding box: it's fun, innit?

my humble suggestion: the silos and ring on this guy are a wonderful feature, even if the overall form of the thing doesn't quite fit:

Andor-style lantern - with my own twist, converted from a thing I found on Amazon (still needs a weathering pass, but I'm waiting on Decals first). Link to 3d printed files are in the next comment.

So I made platforms with little pegs that I'd glue in that receives a coupling nut and has a set screw that keeps the gooseneck in place.

Rob @thatrobhuman.com · 28/04/2025
Tonight I started making a modification to Chris Borge's ball vise. Before, I had M8 threads in the little platforms next to the feet, but I found that with my gooseneck accessories that had power cords (lights, fans, etc), the cords would get all twisty and swapping them out ended up being a pain.

I'm so thrilled that anchor positioning has become a thing. I've been rapidly replacing all my hand-rolled popovers with it. I've even found a way to fake a bounding box in a node editor using it.

I made some 3d-printable Toolmaker & Parallel Clamps. Toys for real machinists, sure, but I've already gotten great mileage out of them when doing small glue-ups of laser cuts. www.printables.com/model/127509... #3dprinting #making #crafting #toolmaking

Cut in half, as pictured, and dig out and discard the seeds. Plop a half-ish tablespoon of butter and some ('bout a spoonful?) brown sugar in each half, bake at 450F (230C) for about a half hour or until its soft. It's even its own bowl (you don't eat the skin :P)

I've no idea why everything I've been designing recently has related to work holding, but so it goes. shamelessly inspired by Omnifixo. (I'm still waiting on threaded balls for the feet). Despite being a #3dprint, its actually really nice, and it turns out a bit more flexible.

My brother is working on a Schoolie conversion, and heard of one of my (many) projects - in particular the fold-up high-density workshop system that I've been developing - as it happens, such a workshop would be ideal for a Schoolie: he gave me some ideas:
