Still having -Thoughts- about NuCaptains and I've come up with this chart to explain the decision space I'm stuck between.

Thinking I'll need to iterate NuCaptains faster than I usually do, Decided to bash out a low-fi version of the ship card. I can't not try making it pretty.

Just showed my wife the incredible crystal beer commercials which were spliced into a broadcast of Star Wars or movies in Chile. Now you can see them! youtube.com/watch?v=pmLw...

Found myself thinking of the kinetic motion out of the TOS Enterprises' warp pod caps. Trek later restored the glowy parts to future designs, but I really miss the spinning motion visible within them. Was kinda neat to see scifi space having starships with actuating parts.

After printing and sleeving, this is a problem. This would work with cards that stick around, like modifiers. But this experiment to put singular challenges on smaller cards just bloats this component. Next iteration I might revert it back to a previous version. I'll test what I got to see.

If you're a fan at all of my old Homeworld Maps, I just fulfilled a request to upload hi-res versions of some old extraneous maps I did back in the Relicnews days. The Vaygr and Turanic maps are in there! t.co/6RWaGl9sP1

I want to make a game about visiting fantastical places. With Cards representing cities, landmarks, and reasons to go there. You travel. The game is about a journey, for a while.

Reading about Anthropic AI's report on abuses and incidents and... it's incredible. I never would have considered using ai as a honeypot. You put a miracle machine out there, hype it up, and watch as state secrets are fed into it by idiots. Then those secrets are fed to the American government.

Talking about craft work with my wife and remembered aerial embroidery exists. This is so cool. I would want it for gaming but terrain for like air battles is the only use I can think of.

I don't know about anyone else, but the easiest way to grab my interest for a board game is showing what it looks like in play. Double if it's a map with some kind of dude on it. (Baltic Empires: The Northern Wars of 1558-1721, by @gmtgames.bsky.social Ft Agricola meeples)

Just discovered the existence of mtg's zeta set. I don't think getting into it (it's a playtest thing?) would be worthwhile, but I have a interest in the lo-fi of it all.

My choices this morning were: A. Cough monster with the occasional gargle and headaches or: B. Zoned out staring at walls trying to brain power. I chose option b, the Zyrtec, and I'm wondering if it was worth it.

On the brain power I'm currently operating on, I decided to make a comparison. 🔼 Hanami, Keymaster 2026 🔽 Samurai, Rio grande games 1998

Ever set up a game then realize you don't have the brain to learn it? :/

Snapped it up for free. Bigger than I anticipated! I'll have to compare it with Hanami

CruiserCorvette. I love designing games. Realizing I was making the Noblebright Galactic Empire I asked who mirror Han Solo would be, and what would that look like? It's Barnaby Russ, galactic scoundrel.

I think your rules density has to be thick enough to slide something discreet like this in. Anything less and it feels obtrusive and like a weird hangup. The more historical you can get with your subject, the better, otherwise quips like this feels indulgent and out of the way.

A doodle for CruiserCorvette. Where possible, human crew should be depicted in groups doing a shared activity.

Got to pull out and operate a couple of games while the kids are in school! Mostly just to work then, I was too tired to strategize. Wingspan pocket is good. Nice little 45m experience, you'll find spirit in your bird card composition.
