Same! I have the TV series and OVAs now! Little sad I slept on movie 2 while it was still in print, but oh well! Still a really good series that I knew I'd like, finally got around to it!

lrp. I legit just started watching the original run of UY and it's a lot of fun! Rumiko Takahashi's work tends to age pretty well! I can see why Lum is such an iconic character!

Forty-five years ago today, on October 14, 1981, the very first episode of Urusei Yatsura goes on the air launching the timeless classic.

Watched Weapons! (Thanks for the recc @docdresden.bsky.social!) Really interesting take on a Pied Piper of Hamlin type tale. The adults are real people with flaws. I can see why Aunt Gladys (no further context) popped off. Ending was really good too!

Ok yeah, work bestie was right, pairing the 1992 Candyman and the 2021 Candyman as a set is a really good pair. New one refocused in ways I wished the original had done. Glad I finally watched these two!

Halloween II is a decent follow up to the first film! I often wonder what the anthology series they planed would have looked like if III didn't bomb. (That'll likely be on next weekend's watch list!) Next up for weekend horror watches are the original Candyman and it's 2020s version, then Weapons!

One day there should be a The Shape Vs. Jason movie with the catch being it's an endure-athon for both slashers. Come up with some creative ways to try to slow down the recharges in both of them, and then the final clash can be a bit of brain and brawn on both sides as well. Like, you could do it!!

Ring (original Japanese version) was really good! The ticking clock helped keep the pace in check and that famous scene at the end still hits hard, as does the twist! I would have liked a little more backstory for the characters as a whole, but still good, still iconic!

I literally don't want anything new, I just want them to acknowledge the live action TV series and release it from its prison and let it be localized. But announcements are surely unrelated to that and my dreams will never come true.

Put The Thing in the EXCELLENT MOVIE, category but seeing it once was enough for me, thank you. The suspense was done extremely well, with logical factors adding to it. The creature/ special effects were also fantastic. It was a lot, but it was a very good a lot.
