It was an experiment trying the pink lips, it worked out better than I hoped for!

Accidental #orktober post, I finished painting up a mini older than me! From the RTB02 Space Ork Raider box, a Space Ork Trooper from the late 80's. These older hand sculpted models are taking my fancy at the moment, and have so much character, whimsy and a lot of detail.
An old hand sculpted lead cast Citadel Miniatures Space Ork Trooper. They are painted with a goblin green base, vibrant yellow green skin, dirty linen pants, red pauldrons and a rusty metal bolter. The same miniature from the other side, you can see the yellowy brown leather pouches and boots, and the bright green base has some texture with a yellow dry brush, as a nod to older basing styles.

You can buy a Hot Wheels car in line at the hardware store anytime you want. No one can stop you. And you can tell yourself you'll use it for Gaslands even though you know that's a lie. No one can stop you.

A-4 Skyhawk, the little scooter that could (or shouldn't and with a few modifications ended up doing it pretty well anyway). The final iteration of the NZ A-4K's I think is a great example (TA-4K in the photo).

It's allright if 40k didn't tickle it for you. I find 40k can lose a bit of the narrative and excitement compared smaller skirmish games like Trench Crusade or Kill Team. The denser terrain, smaller teams, alternating activations and granular control I've found I enjoy more.

The e-power concept I'm bummed didn't take off, on paper in the city you'll get better than mild hybrid fuel consumption and then full petrol range for long distance.

EU: The European Union will require sale of mobile phones with “user-replaceable and longer-lasting batteries” starting in 2027. The regulation demands “availability of spare parts and manuals for 10 years to curb planned obsolescence”.

A break from painting 40k to help a mate get into #battletech. Painted up this commando in a choc chip style scheme and I am so pleased with how it came out. #miniaturewargaming #mechwarrior #commando
A battletech commando miniature on a paper hex woodland map. The mech base is an industrial road with hazard striping on the base rim, with the mech sporting a desert 'chocolate chip' camouflage scheme.

I enjoy reading the Ciaphas Cain books for that reason, how long into the book is it until genestealer cults are revealed. Then occasionally you're taken by surprise as it's a chaos cult!

Painted up some terrain in an old hammer/non grimdark style. Too much Warhammer terrain these days is just ruined gothic buildings in an L shape with arbitrary base footprint, whereas this feels much more immersive despite being MDF lasercut. #warhammer #miniatureterrain #orks #oldhammer
A miniatures scene of an Ork on the top floor of a ruined sandstone building levels his machine gun through the window covering boys below charging out to meet an unseen foe.Two Orks stand behind a ruined wall watching on, one of them has a big shoulder mounted gun pointed out to shoot at the first thing to move.A war boss looks on as his boys change out of a building, the war boss is directing the action and getting ready to leap out and charge in themselves.

The scene uses MDF lasercut terrain painted to look like sandstone of a ruined two story building, with a dark soil/sand base and small clumps of grass.

I've been getting back into the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series after many years, and the most relatable part is how everyday objects like doors and elevators have been imbued with artificial intelligence and it just makes them obnoxious and frustrating to use and everyone hates it.

I ended up tilting the seat a little more forward which solved the headrest. And getting used to the tech, the only one I'm not happy with is on is the cruise control turning on the lane keeping. The rest I've either muted, mute on start or live with.

They're quite nimble around town and suspension isn't too firm but not at all wallowy. Coming from an NB mx5 it doesn't handle the same and don't feel it wants to be flung into corners but I am surprised with how good it is.

I love how much space I have in regular parking bays with ours! It's very entertaining parking next to 'normal cars' and seeing how much larger they are but knowing the inster 95% of the time is hauling just as much around.
A buttercream yellow (pale yellow) Hyundai inster is parked in a parallel parking bay, taking up less than 2/3 of the bay because of how small it is.

Another game of space gits by @planetsmashergames.bsky.social finished with the updated rules, including this tragic moment of my boy deciding to take a nap. The rules are well written, the carnage is frequent and the chaos totally fair. #spacegits #miniaturewargaming #orks
A man playing space gits stacks a 7th dice onto a tower that is next to a plastic mini space Ork, next to this Ork and the tower, a rival Ork with a two dice Tower stands by.The tower of dice from the previous image has tumbled over, and the Ork has fallen over as a result with the dice scattered around them. The other Ork with the smaller tower is still standing.

The use of dials on the screen and loads of real buttons for HVAC and a bit of the infotainment was a huge drawcard for me to get one. It's much easier to glance down and check speed against a dial (checking relative position of things) than try and read numbers which needs more active focus.

@planetsmashergames.bsky.social Played the quick start rules for space gitz with a mate. It's a barrel of laughs and can't wait for the Kickstarter to come through! All games featuring Orks should be this fun, chaotic and kitbash friendly.
A photo of three orks during a game of space gitz. One of them has a giant tower of dice in the foreground, while in the background another ork has a slightly smaller tower while the final skulks around unsure what to do.Photo of a game of space gitz, where one player is attempting to move an Ork with their corresponding tower of dice without knocking them over. In the foreground there are Orks with varying towers of dice.

Touring NZ for the next round of #planespottting a TA-4K #Skyhawk Skyhawk of the RNZAF down in Christchurch. Great to finally see one in the flesh, their ruggedness, versatility and sheer variety of upgrade programs and subsequent models gives them a special place in my heart.
A wide angle shot of a TA-4K Skyhawk on display at the RNZAF Museum. It has three drop tanks fitted, one centreline and two wing tanks. Outboard of each wing is a Sidewinder Missile.

Game of 3rd edition #killteam last night at #outpost6030. Kommandos vs Blooded was a blast to play, as they say you can't have slaughter without laughter.
An Ork 'sniper' peers out the window on the second story, lining up on two blurry enemy operatives during a killteam match.
