I believe there is such a thing as a self-fulfilling prophecy. As proof, I offer the name of my dog when I was a kid. Here's me, and Trouble. I was about 16, he mighta been 12.

A boy and his dog. We named him Trouble, would have worked for both of us. He was a Springer Spaniel, purebred; we got him for free because he was too big to "show." The name was a shortened version of his "kennel name," ... Villanolais Troubleshooter. LOL

Look, I understand that many people love posting memes. I even have a vague notion that some people like seeing them. But MANY people (including me) think they are nothing but social media spam. They are as bad as pornbots or right-wing idiots. They disrupt reading. They tell us things we already know and they tell us over and over again.

So ... I know I can't make meme posters stop. But for the love of all that is good in the world, LEARN TO ADD ALT TEXT to your image posts, and do it. So that the many of us who are dying of meme exposure have at least one way to filter them out of our feeds. I'm begging, here. Those who agree, and read alt text -- please repost. This is my ONE meme post.

The top of my profile (at the moment) says "If my mom was here, she'd tell you not to encourage me." That's not really true though. She's a sweet lady. Today is her 90th birthday. Here she is, dancing at a wedding with my dad in 2015. Dad died in 2020. A favorite picture of mine. Happy 2025, Mom!

I've tried using photo editing apps to turn my photo into a sketch, or a painting, or a caricature. And without fail, I get feminized in rendering. Maybe it's the glasses. Or the hair. Or bone structure. Or they just know something I don't know. But c'MON. Compare this to my profile pic.

As a Democrat, most of what I want to hear going forward is: 1 -- We want modern infrastructure, single-payer healthcare, clean energy, gun control, bodily autonomy. 2 -- We want to tax the wealthy and corporations to pay for this. 3 -- We want a healthy democracy to oversee this. NOT:
