So, my system was upgraded to tf.inferno.ph.d.exe earlier this week after defending my dissertation. I’ve had my new Ph.D. regalia in a box since last month, promising myself I wouldn’t open it until I defended. It was well worth the wait. (And the robe is the right length!)

My doctoral hood, robe, and tam still wrapped in plastic moments after I opened the box. The hood is dark blue. The robe is garnet with black velvet running down the length of the gown, and is embroidered with my university’s seal in garnet. The tam is black, with a garnet rim, and is topped a gold tassel.

The back of my doctoral robe, which is garnet with black chevron stripes on each sleeve, and the hood, which is dark blue on the outside, and garnet and black on the inside.

The doctoral robe is garnet with black velvet running down the length of the gown, and is embroidered with my university’s seal in garnet. Each sleeve have three chevron stripes. And it’s the right length for this vertically-challenged bot.
