Big life update, our kid was born 10 days ago! It was a c-section due to some monitoring anomalies, but outside of that, he's been getting good grades in being a baby from midwife and other professionals. So far, he's mostly a little shark: eating a lot, constantly moving, exceptionally smooth 🦈🦈

"Paint some furniture!" they said. "It'll be fun!" they said 😩 I'm lying, I do enjoy it, except putting on primer. It's sticky and takes hours to dry. Get it on your fingers and it won't come off without intense scrubbing, but neither will it dry, so you get it on everything. It's a mess 😭

I barely ever play video games so this may not be true but I *think* the last game I played was Pathologic, a plague game with near-realistic deterioration of stats depending on food and sleep. I never managed to keep my guy alive for more than 30 minutes so I suspect I wouldn't do well 😂

I finally opened the old Singer treadle sewing machine I got from my mom, who got it from her mom. My mom was still using it in the late 80s! Eventually it broke & went into the basement. I opened it expecting to find a machine in shambles but seems like it just needs a new leather cord on the wheel

In the morning, our garden first gets direct sun in the southeast, right by the door with the cat flap and a piece of wood used as a stepping board. So every morning, as soon as the sun spot appears, Rumble sits in it and patiently waits for it to cover the board so he can flop down & fry his brains

New phone is my first phone without a 3.5 headphone jack and I just. I'm so mad about it. I can't charge it while my headphones are plugged in. I can't use any of my old headphones. All so Apple could sell a few more add-on devices. I will never be over it.

I just cut glass! Or well, a mirror, and you don't rly cut it. You cut a little groove with a wheely tool and then clamp down on the groove with special tongs to break it along the line. Reason I did this is that the new bathroom has slanted walls and the mirror needed to lose a corner. Success!
