Even “have to” is weirdly strong. I think stopping it is the ethical thing to do, and I am glad you did that. Aside from that, not using it in your work is a strong enough statement that you are not obligated to be a lobbyist. The world is quite hard sometimes. We all need peace.

We must understand that just because love is perfect does not mean the people we love are perfect. A person can support you, care for you, love you deeply and still misunderstand and harm you. That isn’t evil, that’s just human. Many trans people have to come to terms with this. It’s hard.
