It was such a gorgeous day i decided to go to the beach and spot some whales. While there i collected rubbish and submitted my data to the Australian Marine Debris Initiative. They find solutions that help reduce the marine debris that washes up on our beaches.
A purple spiral seashell held between thumb and forefinger. Blurred background is the gold sandy beach, breaking blue green ocean and fluffy white clouds in a blue sky.Marine debris sorted into categories on the ground after a clean up. Bottles, wood, hard plastics, fishing line, toothbrushes, bottle caps, knife handle, cigarette butts and a lighter. The usual suspectsA milk carton with what looks like Chinese writing. Fishing trawlers throw their rubbish over board and it washes up on our coastline.A commercial fishing glowstick. These are also thrown overboard and become our chemical waste and plastic problem.

Fucks sake. Get rid of the ferals. All of them. Horses, pigs, deer, foxes, cats, rabbits. Obviously, the people making these decisions haven't witnesses the destruction of habitat caused by these pests. These ferals are forcing habitat and species onto the threatened species list.

After dropping the car off for her pink slip safety check i walked into town for coffee. On the way I saw some nazi graffiti. I diverted to buy a big fat marker pen and turned those hate symbols into windmills. It's only a superficial quick fix. The deeper problem is racism encouraged by ON.

Why this wasn't rolled out after the loss of 75% of baby elephant seals on Heard Is & the decimation of half the breeding females on Macquarie? If common sense stops 'driving' science then what? The 'fix the mess now' stance - when they should have taken a 'preventative step' then - is so lacking.
