Does anyone else have issues with OffscreenCanvas resizing getting squeezed during resize? It’s like there’s a big delay before the main thread canvas is updated causing some dumb looking distortions

I've been working on my own WebGL2/WebGPU library. I feel most libraries out there are either too heavy, lack proper types, or are too coupled to the DOM, making them incompatible with web workers. But man, this feels like one of those never-ending projects 🫠

For the last 10 years I’ve been wanting a chance to design the future—not tomorrow, or the next thing, but 3 things after that. The 5 year horizon. To explore design fiction, maybe even a bit of science fiction? Tomorrow, I get to give it a shot with my first day @githubnext.com !

Let there be light
A white cross-shaped power strip with multiple electrical outlets lies on a concrete floor. The power strip has a red power switch on one end. A black charging cable is plugged into one of the outlets and connects to a smartphone with a dark screen that sits nearby on the floor. The white power cord of the power strip extends out of frame.

Great breakdown on how to break up tasks macarthur.me/posts/long-t...
macarthur.me
There are a lot of ways to break up long tasks in JavaScript.
It's very common to intentionally break up long, expensive tasks over multiple ticks of the event loop. But there are sure are a lot of approaches to choose from. Let's explore them.

I keyed this Lamborghini Gallardo back in 2016. It's an art piece called Low Key, by Norwegian artist DOLK. I love art that invites the viewer to engage, not just observe
A sleek, black Lamborghini Gallardo is displayed on a white platform in an art gallery. The car has a glossy finish, black rims, and yellow brake calipersThe same Lamborghini Gallardo, now covered in numerous scratches and etchings, revealing a chaotic layer of markings over its once-pristine surface. The car’s body appears heavily defaced with words, symbols, and random engravings.

As an Apple Music user, I love that it hardly gets updated and has stayed consistently bad for years - rather than turning into a dumpster fire like Spotify. Maybe that’s a new business tactic... wait for your competitors to drown in useless features

After using OpenAI Operator over the weekend, I’m convinced that AI agents are going to change how we design UIs. The best part: making an application more accessible to AI also makes it more accessible to humans

My 3 biggest wishes for Safari this year: 1. Make it easy to use and configure custom search engines like Kagi without the need for extensions. 2. Support CSS anchor positioning. 3. Fix Reading List syncing. It’s been broken for as long as I can remember. CC @jensimmons.bsky.social

20 years ago we were suing teenagers for millions of dollars because they were torrenting a single Metallica album and now billionaires are demanding the free right to every work in history, so that they can re-sell it. The law only ever serves capital.

I truly can't figure out a use case for this – it fails at even the most basic tasks. Launching the new design with the old model is incredibly confusing. Which Siri is it? Is it the old Siri, Siri with ChatGPT, or the new Siri?
