We are not going to get out of the fascism problem by accepting just enough fascism to turn the heads of the fascism-curious.

This was our experience last time, too. We hadn’t been since pre-COVID, and the decline from “fantastic!” was very apparent, which is really too bad.

my main issue with ai is that i would personally see a larger ROI if those trillions of dollars were spent on healthcare or public transit or schools or road repairs or SNAP or free childcare or free school lunches or EV charging stations or public libraries or housing or clean energy or broadband

Save lives and money. If we could get out of our own way and toss off the white supremacist oligarchy that feeds on keeping us poor and sick, we could all thrive.

a good time to buy an e-bike is when the manufacturer releases a new model and the previous generation goes on clearance. most models don't change much from year to year, and unlike buying something used, you still get a warranty. a few good clearance sales going on at the moment: 🧵

Not planning on seeing either of those in the theater, and Thunderbolts* was also the last one I saw as well. It was fine, but nothing exceptional, and a reminder that since Endgame “fine, but nothing exceptional” has been the absolute best case scenario for anything the MCU has produced.

Been there. Managing expectations during those early days was such a lifesaver. Was everyone still alive? Did the baby eat? Then the day was a roaring success.

On any rewatch I skip the first season and most of season 2. Start with the episodes where Adam Scott and Rob Lowe join the cast, and it will be much better going.

The fact that ankylosaurus, the obvious best dinosaur, is lumped in with Other is outrageous. One more sign that the world as we knew it is coming apart.

I think a lot about how people say the SCOTUS stuff won't be undone for generations and I have to say, there is a poverty of imagination at play there. We need everyone and ESPECIALLY Dem politicians to believe that we can and will fix this, by extraordinary means if necessary (and they will be)

I'm so excited that my story, "Evergreen", got published today in Fiction on the Web. A woman is haunted by recurring nightmares about a menacing fiery figure on a mountaintop, and must undergo a dramatic transformation to save herself. You can read it at fictionontheweb.co.uk now!
A close-up of the marble heads of Apollo and Daphne from Bernini's sculpture at her moment of transformation into a laurel tree. Daphne is pulling away from Apollo and crying out as her hands turn into tree branches flush with leaves.

I saw a deaf reaction that answered this question by saying it’s bc the doctors have very limited time. So asking someone who feels yucky to speed up, write quickly & accurately, & understand complex medical terms when doctors have only a few minutes to respond is frustrating & ineffective.

I'm very proud to say that my story, "Casting On", just got published in the Spring 2026 issue of Tales from the Crosstimbers. This was a lovely one to write - about the magic in connection & unexpected encounters (plus knitting!) You can read it at thecrosstimbers.net or buy a copy on Amazon.
The cover of Tales from the Crosstimbers magazine, Spring 2026 issue. It lists the authors included as well as the tagline: Ten tales from the crosstimbers, on the boundary between dreams and reality. The image is of a forest path winding through blue and green illustrated undergrowth. A small white creature, fluffy with fur, a long tail, and little dragon wings, sits on the path looking out with large black eyes.
