I thought until the end that Edie Sedgwick`s cameo was imminent, but it seems that footage—from a soiree at the Museum of Art—was never made public before being lost. The main challenge/s for me in the game: to find her as fast as possible w/ minimal bother to anyone, to overcome or at least offset the entitlement / presumption in the premise, to not get yelled at, etc., all while demonstrating the thesis that people are a unique info resource, even in a library.

Her challenge is tough, in the spirit of THE RUNNING MAN or MINORITY REPORT (she's seen/read neither.) Maybe THE RUNNING KID as a name, since the game does tend to encourage staying on the move. Despite being in a library, the only info useful for me in the game comes from other patrons and staff.

Kid & I have recently played a game I kinda like for illustrating a particular (people-positive) point. Just realized we haven't given it a name. It's hide & seek played in a library, which has to be at least moderately crowded. Kid hides, & I'm allowed to talk to people about her whereabouts.

CatCon started at 10am, and at 12:46pm I believe a person needed to queue for over 50 minutes to get in; same as an hour before. The line went for blocks—I have video. I delivered the wife & kid, then drove to Culver City to deliver presents to the end of a friend's kid's 1st birthday party.

I was back in this restaurant this morning, and shared the pic with staff who had yet to start working there then.

1st stop today, a day that involved a lot of driving: 99 Ranch in Van Nuys. Wife's request, as I drove her & the kid to CatCon in Pasadena, from Santa Barbara. Next to that 99 location, a Vietnamese restaurant I've always liked, where I once had a classic exchange w/ Robert Morse (account in pic.)

A photo of me w/ actor Robert Morse, whom I recognized in person from his 60s acting roles. Despite having seen most or all of MAD MEN by this point, I'm not sure I'd realized that was him in that role. We're in a Vietnamese restaurant that has changed its decor sufficiently that the staff there today as I picked up some egg rolls to-go didn't automatically recognize the background.

Morse passed away in 2022,and here the exact timing of the photo is revealed. First an imported tweet from March 22nd, 2011 reads 《Just ran into The Loved One (or, more recently, Mad Men) actor Robert Morse while picking up some pho for a certain ailing friend!》 (I believe the friend had actually just had some wisdom teeth out.)

Take my word for it, it says "OPTIMIZED FOR IMAX THEATRES" near the end of the credits for DIGGER. But if my word's not enough, have some photo-documentation to substantiate the claim.

She's just posted a >5-minute video about the hoax on her IG , and there's still a hilarious person in there, but also the post makes the John 3:16 hat she's sporting in that proof-of-life photo seem non-ironic, & of course it's a red hat besides. The hoax I found—um—complex, the evangelism sadder.
