It's been a while since we experienced such a prolonged period of cold weather, and this snow isn't going anywhere soon. It was -7.5°c when I arrived in Bakewell this morning.

For those feeling gloomy about, well pretty much everything in the news, here’s a winter aconite in flower in a Derbyshire woodland. Tiny thing only a couple of cm high boldly doing its thing facing frosts, storms and snow. ‘Nature never did betray the heart that loved her’

I post about stuff I'm doing because good stuff IS happening & maybe YOU can do it too 🙂 This was Saturday's market stall for Earthed Up! #permaculture nursery in Belper in Derbyshire. Alt tags for more info. Link in the replies. 🌱 #gardening
A covered market stall full of plants in pots. A sign reads: edible plants for sale.Looking down on the crown of a variegated Daubenton Perennial Kale plant. The oval irregular leaves are bright green with a cream border.Close up of plants in pots. A handwritten sign identifies the bright green serrated leaves as Japanese Teasel (Dipsacus asper). Another sign behind says Bladder Campion £5.A small plastic container full of small translucent knobbly tubers. They are Chinese Artichoke (Stachys affinis) which can be eaten raw, pickled, dried or cooked.
